| Please Help I am an amazon seller.... or at least my fiance uses my account to sell my old school books.... He listed the books and shipped them out, I sold the book on september 19th and i had my fiance ship it on september 20th.... I received an e-mail (very polite) askign where his book is and all i can do is shrug my shoulders. It was sent via regular post office (standard... the lowest of the low) so there are no tracking numbers and no insurance was offered. So, what in the world do i do? i contacted amazon and told them the situation to see what they instruct but i have not had a response yet. I e-mailed the person and told them the date it was shipped, and since it was going so far (from california to rhode island) and the recent hurricanes to boot it might have been lost in the mail... i didnt know what else to say, i was honest and i flat out told them that i was a new seller and was contacting amazon for their instructions, but i am at a loss....... i asked my fiance if he had receipts from the post office and he looked at me in a scandalized way and got huffy... " what am i supposed to do about it?" he asked....... If it were me i would have saved the receipts, why are men so thick |

| Well I would wait another two weeks. I am also a seller and that happened to me as well, and I know you do not want to hear this, but I reimbursed the person.

| I sell on ebay and if they had included Insurance they would be reimbursed! I always encourage Insurance just for this type of instance! and unfortunately just out of the knidness of your heart and feeling guilty you want to refund the money! But sometimes Bidders have received their item and will try to claim they have not received it! without them paying for insurance it is not your fault and should you refund the money to this person you not only lose the auction item you loose the refund and sellers fee. good luck! |

| I also purchase quite a bit off of e-bay and just recently one of the things I bought took 16 days by regular mail to reach me. The seller was freaking out, but I knew it would show eventually and it did. So, I would just give it a little more time and at that point I believe you can file a trace on it regardless of how it was sent so maybe contact your post office and ask about that.

| media mail takes for ev er! and i don't believe you can make a claim until 21 days after you have mailed the item anyhow. but if there is no ins, there really isn't anything you can do. decide on how willing you are to refund this person's money. and if you are, how much are you willing to return? 5-10? is 20 too much? can you check and see (like on ebay)how great of a buyer this person is? btw, i dont' think men understand the power of reciepts. for anything... |

| You don't have to reimburse them. Amazon will.

| Media mail is VERY slow even on a good day. I agree that it could possibly be delayed or lost becasue of the hurricanes. I've sold a lot on ebay and I personally would just refund the money but I would ask the buyer to be patient and wait two more weeks to see if it turns up. Was it an expensive sale?

| This has happened to me before and Amazon takes care of everything - that's in their guarantee. By making a site like that, they're realzing that s**t happens and people don't get their items. IMO their customer service is muchhhhhh better than eBay's.

| During the first hurricane I had many customers waiting weeks for their items. I was a wreck about it. All but one eventually showed up. Took about 2 weeks. |
