| :*( A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend was in a hurry to get to his friend's house for some party they were waiting on us for. And just as we got there, I noticed a small white dog running in and out of yards. I didn't want to run inside because his friends were waiting, I wanted to find the dog and get it home. But another car stopped and asked him about the dog and so he told me "That guy is going to find the dog, so let's just go. The dog will be okay" This morning we were driving to work and I noticed something white on the sidewalk beside the busiest road in the city. I cranked my head to see it better and it was a dog, nicely groomed with big fluffy ears, just laying on its side. All I could say was "That was a dog" and tears sprung to my eyes and I couldn't stop them from spilling out. And my boyfriend told me don't worry about it, think of happy things like Layla, and all I could think was that dog was SOMEBODY'S Layla. I don't know if it was the same white dog, but I know I am never EVER again turning away from a runaway dog without getting it home. I am at work and struggling not to cry just thinking about it!

| I carry blankets and leashes in my car all the time, and a medium sized kennel...

| What a good idea. I do have an extra leash in my car. Last summer my boyfriend and I spent at least half an hour tracking down two shih tzus that were running around a neighborhood and we just happened to drive by. They had collars and bandanas around their necks, but no identification or phone numbers. We didn't know what to do! I caught one and was carrying her while the other took off. My boyfriend followed it in the same direction and ended up finding its home! So both were returned safe and sound. That really made me feel good!
