| Happy Earth Day. Here are a couple quotes that I like Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as well as the earth. ~Henry David Thoreau There's so much pollution in the air now that if it weren't for our lungs there'd be no place to put it all. ~Robert Orben |

| I hate to see things like 500 acres of woodland mowed down, not a single tree preserved, to build a subdivision of houses that won't sell (as happened next door to my home). However, I don't see man (and his technology) as alien in this environment or an intruder on Earth. We do need to be wise and respectful in our use of our environment. In the wake of the green energy movement, etc, small ideas like not throwing trash at the side of the road have gotten lost. Anyone remember the McDonald's ads or the one with Iron Eyes Cody crying about trash? I think we need to bring those back. Living near Washington, DC, Earth Day to me means tons (literally tons) of trash left on our National Mall. |

True! I watched "Food Inc" on PBS last night and got nervous...again! I get frustrated when I think about how many people I have informed about this movie and tried to tell them of things that are happening in the world. They just blew me off. I've even become distant from some because their habits are so ignorant. I'm not saying mine are perfect but I am aware and I do want to develop better habits. The older I get, the more I learn and want to change for the better, going forward.
