| That's MEAN PETA The Peta people have a new ad campaign to spay/neuter your pets that says : Doggies multiply faster than the Duggars. That's just mean....although I had the great good sense to stop at one child, if you want that many, I think it's their business. Just mean.

| it is funny.... as long as the Duggars are okay with it.... I assume they would have to get permission to use their name and/or likeness, right?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | { I don't disagree that the amount of kids they choose to have is their business...but, given they're filming their what, 4th television season now, with their 19 kids...haven't they pretty much shown they want it to be everyone's business, in a way ? That they want their kids to live their lives in the media? } Here is the text/explanation from PETA: (quote) "The Duggar kids will probably never need to worry about having a roof over their heads or food in their mouths, but the millions of unwanted cats and dogs born each year in this country aren't as lucky," says PETA Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch. "The best way to keep cats and dogs out of animal shelters is to spay and neuter all four-legged family members." One unspayed female cat and her offspring can create a whopping 420,000 cats in just seven years, and one unneutered male dog can father nearly limitless litters. Almost 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters every year in the U.S., and roughly half of them must be euthanized because there simply aren't enough good homes. Unwanted dogs and cats who never make it to an animal shelter are often abandoned and must fend for themselves on the streets, where they are often subjected to cruelty and suffer from starvation, disease, or injuries. The solution is simple: spaying and neutering. (end quote) Billboard:

| If it helps to make the point, I say "Go PETA!" As far as the Duggars go....well, I won't say what I think.. |

| Because they have chosen to make their lives public, I think this is acceptable (that is, if you're famous, be ready to deal with the consequences...that's life); however, I also think it is mean, especially if somebody would read the ad without reading the paragraph underneath which I'm sure happens often... So Peta is getting attention again, but I am still very confused about why they think this kind of attention is worthwhile. This ad doesn't even have a shick factor without reading beyond the first line. In fact, if my dog wasn't spayed and I saw ads like theirs, it would probably make me want to do the opposite of what they said... IMO, ASPCA's commercials are respectful while getting the point across. It can be done. But then, I'm not a Peta supporter and I am generally a Duggar supporter, so...

Donating YT 500 Club Member | If I thought PETA's true agenda was to spay/neuter pets this ad wouldn't offend me so much. But when, PETA is responsible for euthanizing more pets than placing of pets, I can not support them. Would PETA have approved if Mrs. Duggar had 19 abortions, after all they do seem to support the destruction of life more so than the preservation of it. PETA Kills Animals | PetaKillsAnimals.com

| I've been gone for almost a year but I'm glad to see the PETA debate is still raging on. And yes, I'm still a member of PETA |

*PETA euthanized ~21,000 animals in 10 years *To compare, my county alone, Maricopa county euthanized ~530,000 animals in 10 years *Both organizations follow the Asilomar Accords, which defines how to decide which animals should be euth. or not HERE and HERE are some examples of pictures of the animals PETA euthanized (WARNING, graphic). So, using your logic - are you saying that I/we should boycott (not support) our local Humane Associations and their spay neuter programs bc, for example, my local association KILLS ANIMALS - in fact, 53,000 annually? Bc really, I honestly have never understood this line of thinking (this particular PETA argument). Are you also saying that these animals (the ones I linked to) should have been forced to stay alive and suffer? That it was cruel to end their suffering?

| Ann I agree I also believe Peta has been one of the only organizations to really show what is going on with many animal issues. I have done my homework and studied them a great deal and support their cause. I think many people use fear tactics about Peta and I would hope more people would go to their website and make up their own mind. P.S. I will also hold my opinion on the Duggars
