| Filing taxes online? I've never filed my taxes online before, but I thought it might help me get my refund a little faster this year. For those of you that have filed online, what software do you use? A friend said she used Taxact.com last year and was pleased. Do you think filing electronically helps to get your return and refund processed faster? Is there any reason I should not file my taxes online? Other than the fact that I have to pay money to report the tax money I've already paid? Thanks for any advice!

| I have filed my taxes online for years and I have never had any problems. Lately I have been using taxact and I have been more than pleased with it. I do believe we get our refund a lot faster doing it online versus paper filing. I guess I figure the speedy refund check is worth the few dollars it costs to file.

YT 2000 Club Member | we have been filing our taxes online also for a few years now. We use liberty tax.. or esmarttax.com. We have never had any trouble and if you have the money direct deposited you get it back usually within 2 weeks. (whoo-hooo )

| Same for me, it's so quick. I have never even thought about mailing it in. If you go to the irs website they have approved websites and some are even free. I just pick one a free one from there and usually end up pretty good. Good luck!

| We've used TurboTax for about 5 years or so now. We love this program as it saves all your data from year to year. So you don't have to keep re-entering it. It also helps you determine how to file (forms) For example, when I had a direct selling business for a few years, I used a different program than the standard because it prorates your home office usage and those deductions. We have our refund deposited directly into our savings account. My husband usually files the first week or two of Feb. and usually we have a deposit by the end of the month or sooner. I highly recommend this program. You can buy it at most stores or go online and at their website and download it. Which is what we do every year. Good Luck!

| We have used a CPA for years to do ours just because I hate to do it but my friend has used TurboTax for years. She's going to show me how to do it this year. I even saw that you can use the free version for Federal-only filing. I think I'm going to use the basic version though because I think that one will save your info for the next year.

| I have done both. Last year was the first year that I used a tax preparer and he was great. He was able to find deducables that I never found by filing online (that was probably because I never paid to upgrade my software addition, which you can do for around $15 and it shows you everything that you can deduct). He charged me about $100 to prepare everything, and I had the option to get a 24 hour refund (which cost about $250) or to wait the 9-16 business days. I think I'm gonna do it online this year though, just pay to be able to deduct everything I need to, and file online (saves you paying someone to prepare everything!). I don't think they offer a 24 hour return, but I know it goes quicker if you have them deposit it right into your bank account, rather than waiting for the I.R.S. check to arrive snail mail. Oh, and I use TaxAct, it works great.

| I use TaxCut. When I buy the program it includes a free Federal efile, and since we live in Nevada, no state income tax, so all I end up paying for is the actual program.....which is a tax deduction for next hear. It's always really fast and easy, never had a problem with it. |
