| Christmas Breakfast for the Family For all of you that have family in for Christmas and need a quick Christmas Breakfast maybe this would do the trick. Quick and Easy ZIPLOC OMELET (This works great!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!!!) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more then 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns , salsa, ect. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece. Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you've got a nice omelette for a quick breakfast!!! Hope Everyone has a Wonderful Christmas God Bless You All, |

| That sounds like a great idea!! Do you add the cheese when the omelet is almost ready, or in the beginning? I'll try this in the morning. Great post...thank you!

| Kathleen, have you actually tried this yet? I asked someone here at work if they've ever heard of it and she said that her MIL wanted them to try it a while back so they made them. She said it really doesn't taste very good.... mostly like a hard-boiled egg. Maybe if you add enough peppers and onions and cheese it might taste better.

| It works.... Hi Ladies, This really works great. What I found out was it's the ingredients that makes the difference. Someone asked about the cheese. You can add to the bag and also apply shedded cheese after. It's great with sliced avocado and sour cream on the side. I gave this to my niece also and she was having a large number of people over to spend the night. The baby shower was a succuss. |
