| More unpaid time off! My boss just came in to tell us that we all get Christmas Eve off .... with no pay. We already took 2 weeks off with no pay this year and we are already scheduled to take a week in Quarter 1 2010 with no pay. Everytime they tell us this its right after I spend money. They told us this the day before my cruise in March, then in June I booked a 2 week trip to see my family in New Mexico and they told us then, now today they tell us this a week before Christmas. The job market sucks and noone is hiring and Im dying financially here. ggrrrrrrrrr 2009 was NOT my year! AGAIN!

| I am so sorry. Everyone keeps saying the economy is getting better, is it I don't see where? Try to just make the best of it, no sense in ruining your holidays. Happy Holidays and A Prosperous New Year |

| Thanks girl!!! I got home and lo and behold my property taxes went down this year and I got a refund check for the difference. It covers the financial loss of Christmas Eve so Im smiling again! Where there is a will there is a way. I complain but I did get to take 2 trips last year (one was cheap and low key but still....) so I am grateful I can afford to take a paycut and still do something, just the rest of the year is VERY low key for me! Oh well.. it will pick up again in time!

| Sorry to hear that Employers seem to be treating their employees worse and worse, KNOWING that they need their jobs and they aren't going to quit, no matter what's thrown at them It makes me so mad! Same with finding a new job, if anyone is hiring, you can bet that the job is filled before the ink is even dry on the newspaper How cool that you got a refund on your property tax, great timing

YT 500 Club Member | We are in the same possition over in the UK. Last year we had to take unpaid leave, now we have new contracts which allows our employer to 'bank' 3hrs of our pay, in case of more occurances this year which never happened I might add. Well not until this holiday anyway, we could go in but after this year I need a break so I'm not complaining. More time to spend at home with the rugrats. No holiday this year and all my bookable days off used for hospital appointments for my mom, or with people comming in to discuss adjustments that need to made to the house to accomodate her dissability. I really need this break. |
