| Has anyone ever tried the Master Cleanse? I am considering trying the master cleanse program and was wondering if anyone else has tried this, or any body cleanse for that matter? I would like to know your experiences! Thanks

| I have done it 3x in the past 10 years. You have to have the right ingredients. It isn't easy but really cleans you out. there are many products out that do similar things with good results. I would suggest pulling it up on the web and read about it before trying it. The first 3 days are the worst. After that, it is pretty easy. The longest i was able to stay on it was 10 days. You must gradually add food back in...follow the instructions carefully. Good luck! I am thinking of doing it again after Christmas! |

| I have done the master cleanse numerous times, the longest for the full 30 days. I generally do it after the holidays/winter when I know I will have a few extra pounds on me. Each time I have lost anywhere from 10 to 35 pounds, my skin and nails have improved and overall I have gained engergy. It is not easy the first time you due it though, particularly not the salt water flush. If you do it I reccomend using an herbal tea that will achieve basically the same results as the salt water flush.

| Thank you for the feedback! I read about the herbal tea - I heard it made some people have uncontrollable cramps and tummy aches. Have you tried it and do you think this would be true for everyone? I really wanted to give it a try after the holidays and then really start a healthy diet with exercise. I think this would be a great way to start.

| There was a thread on here a while back between a bunch of people who were trying it. Of course you can lose weight...you're starving yourself for days on end. I would never try it...there is just no way in my mind I can justify starving yourself and I think the 'health benefits' that are claimed to be associated with it are no more than a cover up...a way to try to 'justify' not eating. I think of it this way: How would I feel hearing that a bunch of teenage girls were trying it...most parents would be shocked and worried about eating disorders and pitching a fit...why should it be different for adults? Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I agree 100% with Misty. If you really want to try it, go for it, but I don't see how it could possibly be healthy. and there's no way you could do that sort of thing and have enough energy to do all of your responsibilities and get your recommended amount of exercise. Health is more than just a number on the scale.

| This "diet" has already proven to be harmful. Plus, all that acid in the lemons will eat at the enamel of your teeth. This "diet" was invented so long ago, in the dark ages of nutrition Not to mention the salt water! OMG that will kill your kidneys and raise your blood pressure!!!! What happens when you starve your body? Your metabolism shuts down, so that when you start to eat food again, it doesn't get burned off. Please rethink this. There are lots of people that will SWEAR that this diet is good, but it's so NOT! The ONLY way to permanent weight loss and health is to eat healthy, natural foods and to exercise.

| I got a headache at first too, and because I took mine under the supervision of my dr, she gave me alot of advise , you do not drink ANYTHING with caffine in it, you take it very early in the moring, use sleepytime all natural tea around 7 pm or take valverine ( spelling) it was from GNC and its make to help you get sleep. It really is amazing and I know several people who have lost lots of weight and kept it off. Also just like this site phetermine forums was such a support and also gave wonderful ideas as far as excercise and good diet foods. Another thing is water water water.. that really helps and is these walking tapes, I started off with the power mile and used it for several months, I did it 1 time a day at first then moring and evening.. they are easy quick and fun Amazon.com: Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds -... it honestly takes 15 minutes and you can do it right in your living room , after a month add the weights and what a difference you will see.

| I have an issue with the "cleanse" part of this diet. It makes people think they have toxins in their body. Each of us has a miraculous, natural cleansing system in our bodies that works 24/7. You may know it under the name of "liver" and "kidneys". If you really want to be "cleansed", do the preparation for a colonoscopy. It only takes 3 days. I did it a year ago. It certainly cleans you out, and I HAVE THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT. |

| It works I did the Master Cleanse in 2007. I was 46 at the time. I did it for 10 days and IT WORKS. It's not starvation. I really cleans you out and has you going to the bathroom daily. You should drink plenty of water during the day as well. I made it by the gallons and drank about 10oz glasses whenever I felt hungry for the first three days because they were the most challenging. When I finished my stomach was no longer bloated, gassy, hanging and I had serious energy and felt fabulous! I did loose 8 lbs on the cleanse (during those 10 days) and started walking and riding a bike, and eating very healthy. I started at 182 and went down to 154, and stayed that way until I fell ill February of this year. I'm not ill anymore but I did stop my healthy eating and did gain some weight back. I don't look at this like a diet because it is only for 7, 10 or 14 days. It's a cleanse and if you have been over eating, or eating junk food and other crap for many years your body does need a cleansing. Not to forget also drinking, smoking and medications (not me, just in general) After years of abuse our bodies do stop functioning properly...just look around you, people eat unhealthy, are overweight, and illness is everywhere. You will be shocked at what comes out of you. When it's over you do need to be smart about what you put back in and take small steps for the first few days with soups and light foods. No burgers, fries, process foods or anything heavy. This should be used to jump start a healthy eating and lifestyle change. If you chose to do it, do the research and follow the instructions and don't go over board thinking more days than the normal plan are better.
