Donating YT 30K Club Member | First time foster mom The shelter I volunteer at went to a Missouri puppy mill dog auction yesterday and were able to pull 20 dogs. 2 Havanese are going to the Havanese rescue today, the rest were shizu's cairn terriers, 2 maltese, dorkies and italian greyhounds, a pom and a yorkie. The yorkie was 5 years old and so terrified that they were not going to let her go for awhile. I applied to be a foster for the 3 1/2 month old female pom and was approved, Yikes! I am suppossed to get her tomorrow after she is groomed. This is my first time fostering anything. I read the stick on fostering on the Rescue forum but since she is so young I wonder if she will have different issues. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

| Foster I can foster. I haven't had a foster before but I currently have 3 yorkies and have had shizus before and think a Maltese is adorable. I think a female would fit in best in my home. Willing to meet halfway or can travel to pick up on a weekend. Will promply complete foster app if you can send as PDF. Let me know if I can help. | Wow, they had alot dogs and I was hoping to help. Your reply was rude and less than helpful, perhaps next time you could include some positive direction with your response. |

| Not sure where my first reply went: so here goes again! I foster greyhounds off the track. They stay here while getting vetted and waiting for a home. It is the most rewarding and heartbreaking thing that you can do. You know what you are doing is a great service, yet you can't help but fall in love. You hurt for them and love them just like your own. BUT, then the day comes and they get a forever home. You are so glad, yet heartbroken to have to let go. I have been unable to do any fostering the last year or so. Hurts and you do need time to rebound. Bless you. We have failed one time. (and that was my Hubby!~!) Good luck!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I picked up the puppy (no Name yet) this afternoon. Out of the 18 dogs they took 11 still are in need of fostering. So Tanya if you are still interested I can get you the number and you can call and see which ones are still needing foster homes. The pom is a little spitfire and not afraid of anything! I will post pics tomorrow when things settle down.
