| Getting Fit! Hey, Is anyone else trying to lose weight? There may be a thread like this somewhere, but I thought it might help to offer each other support. I'm horrible at dieting, but I've recently started really trying hard to diet and exercise every day and I've lost 4 pounds in the last four weeks. My goal is one pound a week so that by summer I can look great in a bikini. Last fall/winter I lost 20 pounds just from working but changed jobs and I've been holding there since then. The weight was at is the least I've weighed since college, it's kind of the plateau that I hit, so I'm pretty happy for the extra 4 pounds to come off and I keep crossing my fingers that it stays! Any other people out there with sucess stories or who is trying? |

| Yes! I have been going to the gym for about a year and lost 30lbs and I have about 15 more to go! So I know how hard it is but I will give you a secret. buy the book eating clean by tosca reno that is what helped me. Of course with the holidays I fell off the wagon but I am getting back on track. Good luck!!

| I'll have to check that book out, thanks. The closest gym is an hour away, it really sucks. I was having good luck with curves last year but then I moved. I've got about 20 more pounds to lose, that will put me at 10 pounds heavier than when I was in high school, which I would be thrilled to be even close lol. |

| Hey, I don't have a Wii or I'd be trying the biggest loser, I wish I had one though. I try to walk a little every now and then but I live on a gravel road and there isn't really a good place to walk. And now the weather is starting to get too cold. It sounds like we've all got close to the same loss goals and timeline, we should do a weekly weigh in or something. |

| I was going to gym I have been a gym member for 3 years but when I got my little George I started staying home to play with him and we go walking every day so i cancelled my membership and now have put on weight, my son gets married next January so I'm trying to lose weight for that, have my own ecliptical trainer and spin bike at home, plus a exercise mat, ball and weights as well and waiting for delivery of a rowing machine, have banned biscuits-chocolate from my shopping list (that's hard) and hubby and I and george go out to our garage 4 nights a week to exercise, Little George makes it fun when we're doing push ups, he jumps on our backs, but he keeps licking my water bottle ekk so now he has his own as well. It is hard work but the rewards are starting to show.

| Wow! Any tips? I'm terrible with my eating habits. I'd like to shed 20lbs by summer and I know I have a while to do it... but I get so lazy. I'm not a lazy person, I like to get out and do walks (no running!) and things outdoors. But I can't help but eat bad. Are you still occasionally eating the bad things, just doing in smaller portions? Or should you cut them out completely?

| I like the final 15 club, it's catchy. I try to just eat the bad stuff every now and then, like on the weekend if I go out I let myself eat guilt free. And I try to work out every week day. I only lost a half a pound this week and the last, so I'm a pound behind, so I really need to step it up if I want to stay on track. The last two weeks I've not been very good at the dieting or making sure I exercised every day, so I guess my weekends off are going to have to go until I get caught up lol. |

Don't feel bad about getting a little off track....it happens. I had a good day yesterday and today but the day before yesterday was BAD! I weigh myself once a week and weigh-in day is on Wednesdays. Any chance you all would want to pick a day of the week and we all weigh on that day and share our success?? Last edited by TammyJM; 12-04-2009 at 02:54 PM. | |

| I am also trying to stay fit. I have a wii that I use when I can't go outside or after work. I also have a treadmill that I just start back on tonight. I try to do active things as much as I can and I learned different eatting habits. Has anyone tried weight watchers? I am not signed up but I use their principles. I have a number of points I can eat a day and I go from there. It is great becuase it is not really a diet. It allows you to eat anything you want... But if you eat that candy bar you have less points for later. This allows you to eat and not feel guilty and also makes you aware of things you "think" are healthy but really are not. I am actually within my healthy weight range... 6'0 and I can go up to 180... But I have a smaller frame then most people my height... I am currently around 155... And really I just want to get toned and eat healthier for me.
