| Book Suggestion: The Hunger Games Has anyone else read this? If not, I HIGHLY recommend you do. The series is only 2 books deep right now (The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.) They are very good. Just curious as to if anyone else has read them? |

| We SHOULD have a Bama book club! I would make sure you all stay entertained. Suzanne Collins is the author. Basically, it's set as if the countries of North America no longer exists. Instead, there are 12 "Districts" ruled by one all-powerful "Capitol." As a means of reminding the districts that they cannot be overthrown, they have this event every year called The Hunger Games where each year, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12-18 go to this arena and baiscally fight to the death. The main character's 12 yo sister is chosen from the "reaping" as a contestant and she steps up to take her place. The games themselves have this really elaborate set of rules and traditions. The author has a very unique talent for making it too over the top to be believable and morbid, but still real enough to really draw you in emotionally. It is SOOOOOO good! |

I let a friend borrow them (there are 2) Saturday night. Monday AM he called and begged me to bring him the 2nd one, and Tuesday he actually took off work to go home and read! They certainly suck you in! | |

It does sound like a good series. My reading time is limited though anymore....I might have to wait for the movie.

| Ok can I tell you how sick this is- I had a dream about this book last night. I was in the book- and clearly all I know about is the small blurb you gave me- but it was SUCH a real dream... needless to say- I am going to my library's website right now to request it! |
