| Sad morning, yesterday So my friend wanted me to go with her to HB to go visit her dog at thE PET GRAVE!!! Very disturbing for me. It was her beloved "Pookie" blk and white s**t-zu that past away in 07 she was 12 years old.. It is VERY sad there, I dont like it. I went to support her. You just look at all the stones and you look at the dates and some are like 07-08 or 06-08 you know and you wonder... what happend? why did they not live a long life?? And you see some that are sooo dirty with no flowers... very sad that the owners cant even come clean it up and place some flowers there or a little flag!! Then I start thinking of Peanut! OMG if I lost him that early I would be a mess!! It was very sad... Then I started thinking what I wanted to do with Peanut, bury him or cremate him.. I would LOVE to have him with me, but I hate the fact of "burning him".. Ergh I dunno I just want to get those thoughts out of my head!!!! I just had to releave some stress from that yesterday!

| I am not sure if we have any places like that around here. I had Stormy buried. She is at my moms boyfriends house. I kind of wish I hadn't buried her there but when she passed away it was sudden and I was just in a horrible emotional state and shocked. My mom was with me and had suggested his yard since my mom doesn't own her home so I didn't want to bury her there, I was in an apartment. My fiancee would of asked his father which would of been nice but he has a dog and she likes digging. But besides his father wasn't home and I didn't want her to lay around so my mom took her in her blanket and had her buried. It sucks a bit now because they just broke up. I don't know if they will get back together but now I feel a bit weird going over to say " hey can I visit my dog's grave " |

Aww I'm sorry I would, if you really want to go WHY not.. Im sure they would let you visit... How mean would they have to be to turn you down... I remember my Gma had her chi cremated, and she would always have him on the night stand and she would talk to him and stuff.. I just need to get over the whole "burning my dog" part bc in the end I think I would rather have Peanut with me then buried somewhere...

| Aww I'm sorry you had a rough morning, Deanna. I didn't even know there WAS such a thing as a pet grave. We need one out here for sure, I had to bury Hancock in my yard which is fine and all he was just worthy of so much more. Feel better soon!

| My Stuart died when he was 5 months old, it was awful. I chose to have him cremated. He is still with me in a pretty wood box urn with his picture on it.

| I've never seen a pet cemetery I know cemeteries for humans get me all depressed. My almost 6 year old brother died in 2006 and sometimes it's difficult for me to visit him. I can't even think of the day with Jackson... ugh. I don't even know. My moms dog got hit by a car a few months ago and we buried her in the backyard.

| I had my baby Blossom Cremated, They have a chapel at the Pet Cemetary where they had her for viewing, they let you stay there with her for as long as you wanted, they then took her to be cremated (You are allowed to watch if you want to) I now have her at home with me in her little maple box with her picture. And I hold her and talk to her everyday..

| I doubt that there's an official pet cemetery anywhere around here, but I wouldn't bury my dogs there. As a child, we'd put the animals in a little cardboard box and bury them in the backyard, so we could visit them any time we wanted... But when my dog of 15 years died recently, I realized that wouldn't do. I'm going to move away from here someday, and the thought of leaving his body where people could just dig it up made me very upset. So, we had him cremated. The thought is a little disturbing at first, but I think it's probably the best way... It reminds me of my Aunt and Uncle. Their cat Mr. Bochamp recently passed on, and he was like a child to them. So, they decided to have him cremated as well. And when they die, they'd like the same thing to happen to them. So that all their ashes can be released together into the ocean. I almost cried when I heard that.

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | When my Max died I had him creamated. His ashes sit on the mantle in the living room and I still talk to him. When I die I want the ashes of my pets who have died to be mixed with mine and my son will decide on where to put them.
