Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I don't know. I saw the preview for it and can't bring myself to watch it. I honestly find it disturbing. I hate the obsession with perfection and beauty. They're worse than stage moms. It would be one thing if the girls HONESTLY loved it and chose to do it themselves, but most of them have been doing it for so long it's pretty much all they know! The competition, cattyness, and...blah. I don't know. I just don't like it at all. I don't want to offend anyone (I know a lot of people take part in beauty contests, and I think that's awesome!) it's just when really young children who don't know any better are involved that I kind of go "well...." But like RoscoesMommy said, to each their own!

| I don't agree with it either, If I had a daughter, I personally would not enter her in a pagent, unless she came to me and asked to be in one. I just can't help but watch though, I am shaking my head and rolling my eyes the whole time..but I still watch! Sometimes the little girls are done up so much they look scary..it's all very very strange! This is only MHO..no offense intended

| I watch it too. The kids look really weird and freakishly old sometimes!!!!. I think it is sad that they cover up the girls' natural beauty. The put fake teeth on top of their real ones to close gaps. They spray tan and do hair extensions. Basically they are telling their little girls that you arent pretty unless you change yourself. I would bet millions that these little girls will grow up to be disturbed teenagers and maybe even adults with eating disorders and what-not. Don't get me wrong, I think pageants are okay. But only if they make the little girls feel beautiful with the way they already are.

| Yes I watch this show, and it is way over the top sometimes. It really gets me when these Moms always say, " I would never force my child to do the pageants, this is what she wants to do." And I always think to myself, your child is 3 years old, she wouldn't know about it until you told her or put her in a pageant yourself!! I know when I was 3 I dont think I knew what a pageant was.

| I have had numerous opportunities to be wrapped up in these types of things. I personally think they are a terrible thing to get a child into. My oldest daughter has always had extrodinary beauty (all of my daughters are gorgeous, don't take that wrong!) and I have been approached by complete strangers telling me she needs to model...even at 6 months old. As tempting as it was, I had to think long term about the effect that it would have. I did some modeling as a toddler, and I don't have memories of it, but I still didnt even want to put her in anything that young. On top of the effects on the child, I worry about pedophiles as well. I have watched many documentaries on pagents, and even mothers of 6 year old girls will get small "falsys" to put in their tops so their chests don't look so concave . Now that my oldest is going to be 7 she has asked about our local, country bumpkin pagent that they hold yearly. I just don't even like that idea. This country has become far too vain as it is, and while I want my girls to feel comfortable with themselves, I do not want them to ever develop pridefullness over their looks.

| Yes, I love that stupid show...lol I just can't see spending that much...I mean it could pay for college. I and my two sisters did pagents we usually always won trophies taller than us and a crown, but I had fun....it was different back then. No fake teeth/flippers, hair pieces, tans. I mean you looked like yourself. The lucky kids got some merle norman slapped on our faces by our Mom's....lol they were the stylist. Now, I would like to put my daghter in one but, here its either boring church wear....no pagent dresses/make up oR the extreme like what we see on tv and I defiantly wouldn't do that if I could afford it. Isn't it crazy on that show when you see the kids at home and after the transformation you have to look for the Mom to know which kid your looking at!

| Add me to the list.... I watch it too. LOL. I generally don't agree with it either but I did see one mom who actually impressed me. Remember the little girl who was also a wrestler? If the little girl didn't want to be spray tanned then she didn't get spray tanned. If she didn't want to do something then they didn't make her. She didn't wear one of those flipper things and didn't wear a lot of make-up and her parents were so proud of her no matter how she did... they made her feel like a winner. If there were more moms like her then these pageants might be looked at in a little more positive light. But yes.... I'm addicted to this silly show LOL

| Am I glad this show has been mentioned, because I find it very disturbing! I have watched it a couple of times to check it out, and it just makes me sick. I am very disturbed by the fake hair, fake teeth, fake eyelashes, all the makeup and the skimpy clothes and what really gets me is the strutting and jirating around!!! I always think of Jon Benet Ramsey and the sicko who killed her. I think of sexual child predators sitting at home watching this stuff and it makes me sick. We need to protect our girls and keep them save and teach them that looks, clothes and swinging your butt doesn't make you who you are! Okay I guess you know now I dislike this show! LOL |
