| Does anyone do medical billing and coding? I am thinking about taking a course at a tech college here. The course is for 21 weeks, cost 1500, and is for two days a week. Any info is appreciated.

| I used to when I worked at the hospital. It's a fairly simple concept (I picked up on it without ever taking a course.) It would open up opportunities for you on both the medical side and the insurance side--both are pretty stable lines of work, considering the current state of the economy. |

| As an x RN, I picked it up in my early days working in Private offices. Not difficult at all to learn. I did prior to the time computers were the rage in Dr's offices....all was done via typewriter...what I liked about it, was I could take the work home with me.

| I am presently taking an Anatomy & Physiology class online with AHIMA and plan to start a medical coding program they offer online as well: AHIMA: Coding Basics Program I do not have prior medical experience either. I recently lost my job after 11 years and decided to do something different. I like the options of working in a hospital, medical practices, insurance companies or possibly from home!
