| Some people are so sick... I work at Petsmart and today someone dropped two Chi off in a crate by our front door. There was a male and female COVERED in ticks. It was horrible. Me and my salon manager (I work in the grooming salon) we gave them both a flea bath and pulled of most of the ticks. It is sad because we will be calling animal control tomorrow and I'm afraid they will be getting put down. I want to bring them home and try to adopt them out but with the health problems they have I cannot afford to keep them for a long time. They were very sweet but the male had a bad skin condition. I am not sure if it is from the ticks but it was horrible. They didnt seem to be very socialized because it took us a while to get them to come to us. I felt bad. How can someone live with themselves after they do something like that. How can you let your animal get that way. I freak out if I find a flea or tick even if it is just in my house. Every single animal in my house gets a flea bath.

| ok i googled and this is what i found..... Im not sure how far this is from u Arizona Chihuahua Rescue Its in Mesa, AZ. I couldnt find anything on if they would take in chi's at the moment, but it wouldnt hurt to ask..... Also, IF u can, maybe u can offer to foster the chi's while the rescue provides the medical attention..... that way at least space wouldnt be an issue for the rescue... Just a suggestion. o gosh my heart just breaks for them... poor things... Please keep us posted.... |

| The way I see it is that yes it is horrible for someone to do that to any animal. But on the other hand, they did what was best for the chi's. They dropped them off at a place that they knew would take care of them. They could have done a lot worse. I agree with calling a Chi Rescue instead of the pound.

| I subscribe to a Chihuahua Rescue group. I used to have three Chis (all died of old age; spoiled rotten). The rescues will take them no matter how old they are or no matter what condition. I think some people just don't want to be bothered with their dogs after they get old or become hard to handle or whatever! My daughter works with a guy who asked her yesterday if she wants a 5 month old J. Russel for FREE because "I hate him, he annoys me and he's chewing the wall". Well a JR needs tons of exercise and attention and I guess this one is just past the "adorable little puppy stage" and he doesn't like it anymore. It's very sad.

| OMG that is so disturbing. Poor little puppies !!!! I can't beleive people would do that...and did they think they were being fair or descent to the puppies just because they were dropping them off at the Petsmart Salon ?? |

| That is sad I have heard from a lot of people that ticks are horrible this year. I have never had a tick on any of my dogs until I brought Lola to the groomer a couple of weeks ago and they found one on her head . I felt terrible because I had no idea it was there because her hair was so long and it was just burried. I don't think anyone would purposely leave a tick on their dog, maybe this person just didn't know how to remove one, and when they became overwhelmed with ticks, he/she knew they had to just surrender them. I don't want to automatically think the worst of them since they did at least bring them somewhere. The fact that they didn't drop them off at the pound tells me that they must care a little since they might have thought that they would be put down there. Just because a pet owner is ignorant doesn't make them a bad person. I hope that you can help them by calling a rescue or someone else that can help them.
