| Give us Brit Yorkie owners a welcome Hi, I'm a yorkie owning Brit and joined this site a while ago. I have got alot of advice when it comes to yorkie problems etc and I very much appreciate it. Now don't get me wrong and take what I'm gonna say the wrong way but you yorkie owners from the USA are not very accomodating when it comes to us brits I have noticed. When we post ideas and remedies for you to try, it's like we're invisable. No one says thanks or even comments, you just carry on chatting to your forum buddies and we're left out in the cold as it were. So come on you USA yorkie lovers, be friendly to us Brits, we have ideas too and we're just as friendly. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Welcome Mitchell, on behalf of the United States in general and Yorkie owners in specific, I apologize for the international snub. I assure you there was no offense intended. The Brits have stood by us through some tough times, and we have nothing but respect for you here. Plus, Europeans have great beer, and we don't want to anger you and risk getting cut off. I think what happens with the lack of replies to your posts is that you're on a different time zone, and the "new posts" tend to disappear before the mainstream YorkieTalkers get up and search for "new posts." I'm not sure why that happens, but I know I'm on YT every day and this is the first time I remember seeing you. You might send fasteddie a PM and ask why that happens. In the meantime, welcome. I work a 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. shift, so me and insomniacs are the only ones other than you cruising YT at night. One sure way to get YTers to reply to your posts is to post a picture of your Yorkie. And if you don't have a Yorkie, any dog will do. Again, welcome.

| I for one sincerely apoligize!! I can hardly keep up with all the topics since our forum has gotten so large .... so .... I would like to say a belated, "Welcome to YorkieTalk!!" We are truly happy to have you here! I personally love you "Brits"!! I noticed that your Munchie is a male ... I must admit I don't know much about males [dogs] as I have almost always owned little females. Our Toto [female] is a little over two yrs. now and is our absolute joy!! The Yorkie has the most unique personality we have ever encountered! Her health has been excellent so far except for about two pounds of excess weight we are trying to get off her!! She is a little couch potato!! Please do tell us more about your Yorkie baby and we would love to see pictures! And again, welcome to YorkieTalk!!

| I have noticed some members do not add their location..so I am not sure who is even from GB. I welcome any advise and suggestions, no matter who you are or where you live. I have, in the past ask a question or two of the GB members and got no reply..but I figure with the time difference perhaps they get lost or whatever..I don't take it personally and hope you won't either. PS...something I found interesting..I lived in a small town outside Manchester when I was younger. Having moved to Florida recently I had to look for a new doctor. I found one and made an appt....DR. Pickles is from GB...I asked where in GB and she said it was such a tiny town near Manchester she was positive I would not know it..I asked if it was LYM? It is the same place I lived...we were both floored!!! |

Welcome to Yorkie Talk...I certainly didn't mean to over look you...and I do know the different time zone can bury a post to us East Coasters.... I do somehow manage to see Windy and Rosie's and they are in England also... My husbands family are from England. His last name is Quantock...and I know that on the map there are the Quantock Hills. My senior class trip in High School years back was to London...we stayed for 5 days...and I'll never forget it. I was going to an American High School in Germany at that time. I remember crossing into England from Dover.... Hope to get to know you here on Yorkie talk!

| Hi and Welcome! I'm sorry you felt that you were being snubbed as well! I personally don't even look to see where someone is from when I reply to a post. I have a really good friend who lives in England. I'd love to visit there!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree !! I NEVER look to see where someone is from - I look at the post and the pictures and can honestly say that I personally try REALLY hard to respond to the questions I CAN answer - if I can't... simple comments are easy enough to do too - I truly don't think this has anything to do with locations ...it all depends on where your post is and what actually the post says that derives responses - many people don't post if they can't actually help - or don't know what to say - it's NOTHING personal !! I can probably say this is a pretty universal thought here - it's GREAT to see people from around the world. |

Not much attention is given to stifle joints and luxating patella here in the states. Most breeders seem to be oblivious. Could you please tell us about the testing and breeding standards in the UK? Thanks, CJ | |

| Hello and welcome! I am sorry you have felt snubbed. I think it must be the time difference too. Everyone on here loves new ideas and suggestions. I never notice where someone is when I post. Keep trying this is a great group of people.

| Hi Mitchell, and belated welcome to YT. I agree it is probably the time difference. I know I get on the board sometimes and try to read everything that has been posted, but I miss some, because my daughter gets on at a different time and she has read them and talked about them with me. Yesterday, I tried for about2 hours fo find a post she had told me about and had to go farther back than "new posts" to find it. then at other times I see one that I had missed entirely the first time it was posted. I'm sure no one here has slighted you intentionally. Everyone seems to be so freindly and helpful to each other, I can't imagine anyone not responding for any reason. The arguments do get a little heated at times, because everyone loves their yorkies, and all other yorkies and animals everywhere, and the discussions show that. I'm sure there is a lot we can learn from you and vice versa. Artie |
