| ebay vs. craigslist I am wanting to sell some of the items that I have purchased for my pup ~ carriers, beds, etc. (that she never really used), but only locally because I don't want to deal with shipping. I was going to give craigslist a shot, but my friend told me she never has luck there and to try ebay with a local pickup only option. Craigslist is free and ebay is not, I just want to know if anyone has tried the local pickup only option and if ebay with that option would really be worth it. |

| I use both. If I feel I can sell something easily I will use craigslist. If not, ebay is a much wider customer base, worldwide, really. Why do you now want to deal with shipping? Most of the time the buyer pays for shipping, and you can print postage right from your own computer and drop off at the post office, no need to wait in line. If you want to do ebay, the fees get crazy, especially if you have multuple pictures. I've been using auctiva.com for free image hosting, and free designer templates. Hurry and sign up with them, because they are starting to charge fees starting July I believe. So right now it's still free. The only thing with craigslist is most of the time you get lots of lookyloo emails/phonecalls, weird or dumb people, or people that except you to deliver to them. I have sold a few things from craigslist, but it's not that easy.

| I was just cleaning out my closet and had a couple of carriers and one very large bed that are basically new (used only once or twice at the most) that I would like to sell. I have no idea what it would cost to ship these items so I didn't really feel like dealing with it, plus I didn't know how much I could trust actually getting the money from someone unless it was local and cash. I don't know I am just still a little hesitant about e-bay. I am sure there is nothing to it, but the unknown is a bit scary |

| Thanks for the replies. I am thinking I will give craigslist a shot first (for free) and then if I don't have luck there, I will try out ebay. I really appreciate your help! |

| Maybe you want to become a donating member here and advertise in the For Sale section on YT. Things sell quickly here! I buy things all the time and have sold things as well. I sold my Petflys carrier here because I needed one that would hold two. Then I found the perfect carrier for two from another YT member. I just bought a snuggle bed from another member. So, believe me, things move pretty fast on here!

| I've been thinking about listing some things for sale on here, too. How do most of you recieve payment for the items you sell? I'm set up to send money through Paypal - can I receive money the same way or do I have to set up something special with them? (Sorry - I'm not that savvy about paypal lol)!

Receiving money through paypal is easy! You can either send the buyer an invoice through the 'request money' tab or you can just give the buyer your email address to send money to.
