| central heat and air Here's my situation... right now we live in a 3 bedroom house.. small rooms. My cats have their own room, because my yorkie will eat their poop and litter.. and I have a lot of breakable stuff so my husband prefers they have their own room at night to sleep in while we can't supervise them so they don't break our stuff. The second room is ours, and the third has all of my husbands stuff in it.. reptiles, breeding mice, an extra computer, couch, and xbox, and games. We don't have room to move these things anywhere else. Well, we are considering having a baby in a few months.. but I need one of these rooms for the baby. Since we have nowhere to put all of my husband stuff.. I have to do something with my cats. I don't want to get rid of them. We have an extra room that is a porch. I could make that my cats room.. but it doesn't have any way of getting air or heat out there. Anyone have any suggestions on ways I can get air and heat out there for them so I can put them out there while we are sleeping? The rest of the house has central heat and air.. would it be expensive to install it out there? can someone give me an estimate? I don't want to put a fan out there (it wouldn't be enough and I wouldn't want them to put their paws in the blades while it is going) and I don't want to put a little fireplace out there because I dont want them to burn themselves. Do I have any other options?

| You could get a portable heater. Also I have seen portable room air conditioners that you can take room to room.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Good question - we have a 3 bdrm too - and our bills are KILLING us this summer - they sell Tower fans that have protective fronts - I have the large version of the one in this picture and no animal can get their feet in it - they're GREAT! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I looked and that's what I read - that one looks good too - Fans these days don't have to have blades like the old days - you should be able to find something for what you need and to get a Fan/Heater is a bonus - I didn't know they made those ! |

| They make heaters [Holmes] that look similar to Vette's fan ... don't know if they make the heater/fan in one unit. The heater is wonderful .... thermostat controlled, etc. I believe we got ours at Wal-Mart? I just had a new heat pump installed in our home and since we are on a remodelling "adventure" ... I had them go ahead and run extra ductwork into the garage which is a part of the house. We are going to make that into a room next year for Patrick's "toys" ... [drums, etc. ... whole other story!] Right now he has a window air cond./remote control, energy efficient thingy ... I don't understand, but it works really well! Then when we get that made into a room, all we have to do is open the vents out there ... tada!! ... heat & cool ... and did I mention quiet?!?
