| Unemployment Rant Okay, so I was in the hospital for 4 day's the last week of April. My husband is required to take 5 day's off unpaid each quarter at work. So he took off the last week of April so he could take care of the house and kids while I was gone. A day or two before I go in the hospital, our only vehicle goes to truck heaven. My husband is trying (bless his heart) to keep the house clean and take care of the kids, plus trying to figure out what we are going to do without a vehicle (thank god for my father inlaw, He is letting us borrow his truck.) Anyway, so my husband gets online to file his claim on Fri of that week. A week or two later we haven't gotten any money yet, so he calls them. They tell us that he was denied because he filed around 4:00 and you have to file by 2:00. Where do they tell you that crap? My husband is going to appeal, and bug the s**t out of them (his words), but I don't see it doing a bit of good. There process for everything is looong. It takes about 2 weeks to get a phone interview to explain what happened, then they took about 2 more weeks to tell us we were denied. When you file an appeal it takes about 30 days to happen, then 45-75 days to find out if you get you're money or not. So my husband is out of a weeks pay Thank you for letting me rant!!

| OMG thats sooooo annoying and aggravating and frustrating... not like you are not already stressed out and hurting but to go through MORE stress like that... STUPID STUPID! Unemployment is just hurting some people more! I hear a lot of nightmare stories here at my work too... I am salary so I don't qualify for unemployment so for the 5 days we have to take off every quarter I took a paycut... OUCH! Hourly people can collect unemployment but noone told them they couldn't if they only took off 1 or 2 days a week, so some of them are getting screwed!

| When I filed before, you could call anytime of day or night, as long as it's by a certain time of a certain day. Say the deadline is sunday at 2:00, then you have a whole week to call it in. Bamafan, you can file when they make you take a week off quarterly without pay, and I believe that is in every state. I used to work in a school cafeteria with a temp company, and when school was out for the year, I even filed for unemployment, didn't get much, but, every little bit helps |

| You can file after the first week in every state, and then the 2nd week for the op's hubby would be the next week he had to take off without pay |

| i just got my payments started i had missed 2 days in a 2 week period with my kids, then i get strep so i went in, and worked with a 102 fever and after 2 hours asked to go to the doctors..they said please leave we dont want you getting everyone else sick..i go dr says its strep stay home..the next morning the phone rings..hr says how are you, i said not great, she says well i didnt call to see how you were i called to terminate you. shocked i said for what, she said thats what she asked the NEW big guy, because she hadnt heard any complaints, he says she missed time, she was late and her work isnt up to par..well my work was great because i was just told that by 3 other big guys, and my numbers backed that up..i wasnt aware i was late..so anyways..i file, im denied, my job didnt send the correct income info, i appealed got it straight i waited a month and half for the interview. the employer never answered the call for the interview, i got my answer a week later and i received 4 weeks of unemployment they wont pay the first week. i couldnt even claim on the day i was fired (9 am ) then because the pay was changed because the employer pays a week in advance i lost more money..its not much buts it helping and you can do your weekly claim after business hours..which i thought that was weird i file online, and i tried to do it late one night and it told me i had to file during business hours |

| Wow...after reading what everyone else has had to say, I'm thinking that maybe our state needs to catch up. You don't get the luxury of those types of benefits here. In order to be eligible to recieve any benefits, you have to actually be unemployed...not just missing work even if it was forced. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | They make alot of money off of people who think like you. So if you didn't know the 2pm cut off so you're cut off. It may or may not do any good to appeal, I wonder how many other people didn't see/know about the cut off time? Do they need to make it easier to find/read? I agree with your husband you may not win the appeal, and only be a thorn in their side for awhile. But while you are there be the best thorn you can be!
