| Las Vegas Hey everyone! I'm going to Las Vegas on Friday for the first time ever and I was just looking for any advice or tips on what to do or see My boyfriend and I are going for my birthday on Saturday, but we're getting there Friday and leaving Monday. On Friday night we're doing the medieval dinner thing at Excalibur, and then Saturday morning we are taking a bus trip to the Hoover Dam (we're geeky engineering types). On Sunday we are going outlet mall shopping Does anyone have suggestions on other things to do? Where to eat? What to see?

| You won't have a problem finding anything to do, see or eat lol. Every step you take you will find something else to catch your eye. I took a road trip with my mom, grandma and great grandma a few years back and we were in Vegas for 2 nights and it was amazing. We didn't plan anything but never ran out of stuff to see or do lol. I don't really have anything in particular I would suggest because it is all so great!! Although I didn't get to see the roller coaster on top of one of the casino's so go see that and tell me how it was lol. P.S. ignore those little cards on the ground, they are shaped like baseball cards!! You'll also find them stuck in fences.

I just got back from Vegas last week... it was my 5th time... I LOVE Vegas. Funny thing is, I don't like to gamble. I just love the atmosphere and shows and amazing hotels. While we were there we at an AMAZING restaurant called Planet Dailies inside of the new Planet Hollywood hotel and casino. I suggest definitely seeing The Luxor, Caesar's palace, Paris, and New York, New York. The Excalibur show is a lot of fun so I think you will enjoy that. If you want to see a second show, I would suggest going over to "Tix for Tonight".. (I think that's what it's called)...it's right next to the big M&Ms store which is right next to the MGM Grand. They will have a list of all the shows and their tickets are usually 50% off regular price. You can also get special deals for restaurants there too. I hope you have fun and I am jealous I want to go back already! hehe

No Longer a Member | I am so jealous. I have always wanted to go to go. What's the deal with the little cards that looks like baseball cards? Post some pics if you can. I would love to see them. Are they running any good deals right now? |

| They are only shaped like baseball cards.... they have naked women on them I've never picked one up but I am assuming they are prostitute cards. You will see them stuck in fences and all over the ground. It's kinda ridiculous actually. Regardless of that, Vegas is a blast.

| Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and use the free trams to go from one hotel to the next. One of my favorites to see are the fountains at the Bellagio. Be sure to see them at night so you can enjoy the lighting and music. It's spectacular.

| My hubby can never get me away from gambling long enough to see any of the shows. I regret never seeing those Sigmund and fried or however you spell their names. I would also love to have seen Jay Leno. The shows they have out there are supposed to be FANTASTIC. I know when we went last time we had the shrimp cocktails. The food out there is also fantastic and very reasonably priced, and when you're gambling, it's free drinks! Have fun, I wish I could get out there again |

| Awe...can I go along!!! You will love...it out there. About your trip to the Hoover Dam. I forget what bus company we took for our trip to the Hoover Dam with but the bus driver was a pain in the *#S. He made an announcement after everyone got on & said he would appreciate if no-one used the toilet during the trip cause he has to clean it when we get back. You will go right past Lake Meade. It's right beside the Dam. Oh, yes be sure to see the dancing fountains at the Bellagio. Also if you have time, go into Caesar's Palace, The Forum Shops & look at the ceiling. They have it painted that makes it look like your outside when of course your not. They have real Flamingo's also where the pool area is in the Flamingo Hotel. Those people that stand and want you to take the cards of the naked women are very....annoying. We just ignore them & walk right past. Prostitution is illegal in Clark County, where Las Vegas is. But I'm pretty sure everywhere else in Nevada it's legal. Which doesn't make any sense of why their handing out those cards. HAVE A FUN, SAFE TRIP!!!!

| Hey how come no one mentioned buffets??? That's my specialty! I've tried pretty much every single one. My favs are at the Rio (not the all seafood one, that one is pretty expensive and not that great, and i looooove seafood, but it's not too fresh, yuck!) It's the regular one, very reasonably priced. And to splurge at the Wynn buffet. You can go for monday lunch before you leave if you have time. It's much cheaper than a weekend price, but still get lots of higher end foods. (It is one of the most expensive buffets regardless though) Last time I went to Vegas about a year ago, we went back to the Rio prob about 3 times. If you want something cheap, go to Circus Circus and there is a little hotdog stand where you can get a footlong for $1! Oh if you go to the outlet shopping at state line make sure you go on the big rollercoaster at buffalo bills (if it's still called that). It's way better than the roller coaster at Stratosphere; that one is so not scary, and it's expensive! You have to pay to get to the top of the tower, then again for the rides. It comes out to like $13 total each person if I remember correctly. You can always ask the locals, those are always the best spots, but since it's your first time you should stick with the touristy things! (Like buying a yardlong plastic bottle of booze and wear it around your neck! You'll know what I mean when you get there! Have fun!!!

| Oh Linz! You will LOVE it! I've been 3 times and I'm only 20, not 21 and managed to have a fabulous time! Where are you staying? (Sorry if you posted this already, I just got so excited to give you suggestions!) The first time my Fiance and I went, we stayed at The Venetian. Definitely check it out! Try to swim in their pools, sometimes there are no guards! They are fabulous!! The Venetian is definitely one of my favorites! It is absolutely gorgeous, with paintings on the roof, gold accents, you name it! Check out Madame Tussauds wax museum, it's in The Venetian. (There are coupon books at the monorail that have a 2 for 1 coupon usually..or something like it so make sure you check there first to save money!) I also loved the water show at The Bellagio! It is amazing and unlike anything you've ever seen before. I think it's every half an hour, I could be wrong though. They play different music all the time! MUST see!! Caesar's Palace was amazing to see. I felt like I was in Rome!! I love going there! Go to the forum shops there, check out all the ritzy shops. Also, I just love this little shop called "Vosges" Luxury Chocolate Truffles, Gourmet Gifts & Specialty Recipes at Vosges Haut-Chocolat They have the most amazing chocolate! If you like chocolate, you must go there! They are usually giving free samples too. You can also get really cool chocolate drinks there too! We ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville which is right across the street from Caesar's Palace. It was great food, and actually a good price (which is odd for Vegas!) I would go to Fremont Street again to check out the light show there. It's this amazing light show on the roof - every hour I believe! it's only a few min taxi ride to get there. Cheap souvenirs there too! You can shop til you drop in Vegas, but remember the exchange rate! You can usually find some great sales, and cool stores that we don't have here though! So enjoy it! Go to the New York Pretzel Co. stand in New York New York hotel and get a pretzel. They are all so amazing! They also have the most amazing gourmet candy apples! Can you tell I love junk food??? haha! We drove there two of the times we went, so we went to a lot of the outlet malls far away, but there is one that is pretty close to the strip.. Las Vegas Outlet Centre is what it's called. That's all I can think of for now!! ENJOY and have a blast! I wish I were going back!! I will add more if I can think of anything! I'm sure I will!! |
