How do you get rid of pigeons???? I work at the Chamber of Commerce which is also our town's Visitor's Center and an Old Missouri Pacific Depot (restored). We have a major pigeon problem. It is so nasty on our sidewalks! The first thing visitors see is piles of pigeon poop. We try to keep it clean but as soon as it's clean they mess it right back up. Also in the back there is a wall of bricks with people's names on them(it was a fund rasier for the restoration) anyways and a lot of local people come by to see their great great whoever and they have to walk through pigeon crap!! Does anyone know a way to get rid of them without harming them? We've tried the fake owl. Someone suggestioned a device that makes a really annoying noise but if we used it we would have to put up with that sound all day long and so would visitors. I've searched the internet and about the only thing I can find are harmful things and I don't want to kill them (my boss on the other hand could care less). I'm willing to try anything!!

Is it just one section or area that is being affected? My parents had a problem with birds, they used this swirling silver thing (it hangs like a wind chime, but makes no noise). The wind will blow it and it will twirl around. I have no idea what it's called, but it has worked, as the shiny reflective surface of it have scared the birds that they used to have constantly, away. I believe it was $15 or $20 for one... I'll try to see if I can find the name of that thing. I just found this as well, which may be better suited for your application: http://www.biconet.com/birds/flashTape.html

Thank You Fasteddie! I'm going to run that idea by my boss. It's really around the whole building but two main spots, right by the front door and the area by the side door. The main spots where people are. I'm a smoker so when I go outside for a break I have on little bitty spot that I can stand in and I have to constantly watch out for "surprises".
