| Why I LOVE garage sales! I am a garage sale addict. I hit all the great neighborhoods opening day the second they open and my kids get great clothes that way!! So I found something I didnt expect yesterday. We have horses, and so whenever there is tack it draws my attention. Well I was in a small neighborhood yesterday, nowhere where there is livestock or horses at all, and this woman had brought her late husbands 2 saddles there to sell. Get this, she was selling them for $20 a piece!! One is a vintage JC Higgins and the other is an unknown brand, but an excellent roping saddle!! I bought them both of course! So I got them cleaned up, and here is one of them. I am going to make a lot of money on them!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | That's a great deal! When we moved from AZ my husband just gave his saddle to a neighbor who did trail rides. We just wanted to be done and not bring it with us. We had no use for it here at all, she had watched our animals for us when we were out of town. She was thrilled to get it, last I saw it was on a blanket on her kitchen floor being readied to clean up etc.

| Wow, that is an incredible buy. I love going to garage sales too. We have a antique/resale shop so I am always looking for things to resale. We also sell some of the items we find at garage sales on ebay. We live out in the country so there are usually not too many sales but I enjoy going when I can. It is always like going on a treasure hunt. |

| Wow, my mom is into horses and that is an unbelievably fantastic deal. The woman must have had no idea what she had. When I was a child, my mother had a garage sale and practically gave away a bunch of my step father's (very valuable) antique items, including furniture at a garage sale while he was out of town. She just didn't understand their value and wanted them out of the house. I thought my step dad would have heart failure but I guess she made a lot of people happy that day. Congrats on your find.

| What an incredible deal. Way to go, girl. Now we need pics of YOU sitting in that saddle astride your beautiful horse! I love used saddles -- it looks like you did a fantastic job bringing the leather back to life. You can tell a lot about a horseman/woman by the way they take care of their tack. Hubby and I bought handmade hand tooled saddles - one was a roping saddle, the other was a barrel saddle -- that was well over 30 years ago and even though I don't ride anymore, I won't give up my saddle . |

I wouldn't give them up either! I don't have a picture of me riding...but here is my 4 year old (and my mom next to her) on my mare yesterday. I took her a few laps, and my daughter did too. It's her (the mare) first ride since having the baby.
