| Any photographers out there? Hey Everyone, I have always love to photograph just about anything. I never had the money to buy a nice camera but was able to take pretty good pictures with a cheap camera. Any how, what would you recommend for a nice starter camera that has useful features. I have the money to spend now, but I want to keep it under $1000 if possible. I want a digital and would like to use it to take on natures walks and to take professional pictures of local pets. Thank you

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would recommend either a Nikon D40 or Nikon D90. I upgraded from the 40 to the 90. You can get a D40 package for around $500. HOWEVER, if you can swing it....I really would recommend you get the D90 if at all possible. My hubby got my pkg., including the 18-105mm VR lens, for about $1100 via Amazon. You will not be sorry w/ the D90.

| I had someone help me pick out my camera just before Christmas and I asked him to help me find something that was semi professional, capable of taking quick snaps and making them look good and also to take more professional type pictures. We picked out the Canon G10 and I SERIOUSLY love it! It's perfect for a starter camera, has lots of settings so you can take more control and some great little features. I don't think I can thank the person enough to helped me pick it - Thank YOU again!
