| Do you think its possible... I was wondering, we all know out pets can suffer from seperation anxiety when we leave them, but do you think we can/do as well? I'm asking because I think I do. I had to leave Norman home for about an hour while I ran to the grocery store and I just felt so sick and worried until I was absolutely nauseaus. By the time I got back home I was just nearly in tears. I don't think that's normal. Once his majesty was in my arms giving me kisses all was right with the world again and miraculously recovered. According to Mike, Norman whimpered, whined, howled and stomped his feet while I was gone. So apparently we BOTH suffer from sep anxiety. ***note: You know, with all my "crazy" threads its a wonder ya'll haven't had me committed yet!

| I definetly do...anytime I have to leave Lulu at home, I am a wreck. And I know for a fact she is too as my mom was home one day (she lives with us) and said Lulu went "crazy" when she realized I was gone.

| Separation anxiety is a psychological condition in which an individual has excessive anxiety regarding separation from home or from people to whom the individual has a strong emotional attachment (like a father and mother). Sp yep, its definitely possible. Great. Like I don't already have enough to discuss with the therapist. lol

| I think for sure humans can have separation anxiety! Sometimes when i have to go into the office and can't take Genghis. Mid morning I call my husband and tell him I miss the pup. I try to get back home as soon as possible. |

| I get the same way on the odd occassion that I have left Amelia with someone so I could quickly go to the post office or the store... it's never been longer than 10minutes but I get into a stupid panic. She freaks when I leave her too, she NEEDS to be right with me at all times. I guess it's something that needs working on otherwise I'll be going to school with her. We're working on it.

| I know that I suffer from it. Years ago we had to go on a business trip and it was the first time away from my 2 cats......I called home and spoke into the answering machine calling out their names! Hubby just shook his head and rollled his eyes (and laughed at me). I usually cannot wait to get home as soon as I leave the house to run errands.

| I do think we suffer from seperation anxiety from our pets! I've had to work on it a bit. I was in Vegas for a week 3 years ago and I was actually crying one day I missed them. I went on a cruise a month ago and did MUCH better! I realize that I need a break too! I just love them to pieces, but I also want to be able to travel a little bit!

| I do! I'm pretty sure I do. The only time I was half-way ok going somewhere & leaving my babies (dogs & cats included) was if a good friend took care of them. Then I'd call daily. Lucky for me I haven't been anywhere lately without them. heheheh.. (how long can I put that off? I think my husband may have me committed one day if I don't plan a trip somewhere without dogs.). A few hours away is ok, but I do think of them and am always glad to see them. Dogs more than cats, cats kinda can take care of themselves for a while...dogs, well you know, they're our babies! |

| I'm solving that problem! I'm getting a carrier that looks like a purse... I will "sneak" her in everywhere!! Fancy has seperation anxiety bad. Worse than I thought.... Today, my dad went with me to run a couple of errands so I left Fancy in the SUV with my dad becuase I was only going in & out at the store. Well, when I got back in my dad said Fancy whined and barked the whole time and was glued to the window "looking" for me. I was literally gone maybe 5 minutes and when I opened the car door she showered me with kisses like she had not seen me in 5 hours! So thats why I need to hurry up and get a carrier - it will solve both of our problems! Plus its getting warmer here and I can't leave her in the SUV and I'm not always going to have somebody with me to sit in there with her so that I can leave it running with the a/c.

| Yes, I do! I have horrible anxiety. I'm only 20 years old, 21 soon and I HATE leaving Lilly home by herself... especially with our weirdo neighbors. I hate it more than anything. I also have anxiety when my boyfriend leaves to go work (he travels). It's the worst feeling in the world.

| *raises hand in the air* I do... big time.... I try SO hard to keep my mind on something else.... in general I have large anxiety problems... so this is just another avenue for it. I always think... what if someone broke in... what if she has to pee/poop (she knows going in the house is bad... and would hold it as long as she could... which upsets me...) what if the STUPID robin we have it banging against the window and upsetting her... I'm getting better- i guess- mostly because she could care less that i leave (thank God) and is always happy to see me when i get home, but it is still very difficult for me. (BUT. i left her today for 4 hours... near the end I was having a hard time with it but I did it... we both made it through the hours alive!) |
