| Afraid of neighborhood cat I live in a subdivision with deed restrictions, among those restrictions is "no outdoor cats". I have 2 100% indoor cats. There is a cat that is roaming around the neighborhood, doesn't have a collar and it's very skinny. I love cats as much as I love dogs, but this one cat it's getting on my freaking nerves!!! He comes to were Kiki (my cat) sleeps by her special window(she loves that window) and from outside he tries to attack her, he jumps and jumps to the point that it has torn out solar screens just trying to get to Kiki, of course that spooks Kiki and she tries to attack back, all this through the window/glass/solar screen. I'm afraid that either cat can break the window because it's that hard how they attack each other. That cat comes to Kiki's window only, he can see Negra( mi other cat) and he ignores her. Negra's window is bigger and has no solar screens, but for some reason he doesn't care for Negra, only Kiki. Both of my cats are females and spayed. What we do when we are home it's to let the dogs out to chase the cat, but after a while he comes back!!! One night hubby was taking a nap in the study and Kiki was sleeping on his lap, well somehow the cat knew which room Kiki was and tried to get her thru the window, Kiki got mad and try to attack back,, of course hubby gets up trying to scare away the cat and Kiki jumps on hubby's leg and bit him and scratched him. Hubby was bleeding like crazy, we almost went to the ER, bbut the wounds weren't that deep. That's how crazy it gets when Kiki sees the cat trying to attack her. I don't want to put chilli pepper in the backyard by the area where Kiki's window is because the dogs go there too and we also have a possum family that roams around at nights (I'm wildlife friendly) and don't want the possum babies to get hot by the pepper spread on the backyard or fence. My next door neighbor told me that she know where the owners of the cat live, but if they hardly take care of their kids much less of their cat. Hubby told me I need to go to their house and tell them to keep their cat indoors. But if the cat doesn't have a name tag they ca tell me that it's not their cat, I can't prove that. I feel like calling animal control, but the cat is hard to catch. Can someone suggest something else? I'm really tired of the cat. I know it's not the cat's fault that his owners don't take care of him, but it has gotten to a point where we are keeping the shutters close because we don't know when the cat it's going to attack again! If I go to the owners how do I approach them? I emailed the HOA last night, I don't know what they can do, but at least they need to know that ppl have outdoor cats damaging private property.

| I am like you and love all animals. If it was me, I would try to catch her and take her to the vets and then either find a good home for her or (knowing me) keep her myself. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | There are SO many cats in my neighborhood.. Bella goes absolutely bonkers!! It seems like you have tried and tried to get the cat to go away. It could be a stray and have some kind of disease? Im sure whatever you do will be the right decision.

| I would call animal control and ask them for help. See if they have a live trap that they will lend to you. Try to catch it and take it in to them. We also live in a neighborhood and county that does not permit animals to be outside unless they are under the control of their owners. (In otherwords, no loose animals wondering around.) There are TONS of cats left to roam loose on our street. (Most of them on the other end, thankfully. When it gets bad enough and they start frequenting my yard, I get out the trap. After the owners have to make a few trips to the shelter to pick their cats up and pay the boarding fee, they get the point and usually keep them up for a while. |

| Well, even though they have the rule...they certainly don't enforce it whereas cats are concerned since they are everywhere. Like I said, I'm just thankful that they are currently all staying on the other streets for now and not on our end. Once they start to migrate down, I'll have to drag the ole trap back out. |

| Thank you all for your replies. I was walking the dogs this morning when I saw this lady who belongs to the the crime watch committee, I asked her if she knew what steps should I take about the cat. She is going to send me an email to who I need to contact about my issue , with a number to call. She told me it's a non emergency number what they do is they contact the owners about the cat, if they don't get the cat off the streets the owners get a fine and the cat it's taken away from them and the cat goes to a rescue organization, not sure how that works, this just what she told me, I'm waiting for her email. HOA hasn't emailed me back. I'mm going to try to find a trap and take him to the vet and have him fix, 'cause he is not, maybe by doing that he'll behave better .

| Good idea! Our county animal control will lend traps out. There was actually a waiting list when I requested one, so I bought one. I think it was like $25 at Lowes...? |
