| Super Bummed Yesterday I responded to an ad for a free child-friendly horse. They needed references and all that. So I got everything together and replied to the ad. Well, I didn't pay attention (because I was so excited!) to the fact that the ad said to CALL or to email a different email address. So after finally noticing that, they already had several prospects. I am so mad at myself. This horse was perfect. Some of you may remember that our sweet baby Brandy died this winter. He was our old man, but the best horse in the world. The kids could do anything with him. We have our 2 other boys, but they are not nearly as docile as Brandy was, and this horse seemed to be. They were only getting rid of him because he could no longer do jumping for 4-H because he developed a slight knee issue, but would be fine for trails and pleasure riding. Plus he was white, and that is what my daughter has been begging for. I really got my hopes up on this, and I am so bummed out now. Other horses that are that well broke and tame are thousands of dollars, which I cannot justify spending right now. It costs a lot to feed horses every month, so a large up front cost just isn't doable for me right now. I am so mad that I let myself get so excited about it.

| I am so very sorry for your disappointment. I am sure that you will find the perfect white horse for your youngsters. Here in Georgia we have a free publication put out by the Department of Agriculture called the Market Bulletin. If you have something similar you could put an ad in it with your specific requests. Also, if you haven't all ready, check out the Stable Mates magazines which are usually available at feed stores. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH. Horses + Little Girls = |
