| Woman Lets Cat Out Of The ... Couch? Woman Lets Cat Out Of The ... Couch? Buyer Of Used Couch Finds Cat Inside POSTED: 1:29 pm CDT March 13, 2009 SPOKANE, Wash. -- For $27, a Washington state woman got a used couch and a mystery -- a strange mewing sound coming from inside the sofa. After days of searching for the source, Vickie Mendenhall's boyfriend discovered a very hungry calico cat living inside the couch Tuesday night. It had been there for nearly three weeks, apparently crawling in through a small hole on the underside. The Spokesman-Review in Spokane reported that Mendenhall took the cat to the animal shelter where she works so it could recover. She also contacted Value Village, where she bought the couch, but the store had no information on who donated it. Next, she contacted media outlets in hopes of finding the owner. That tactic worked: An acquaintance alerted Bob Killion about a TV story about the cat, and he was able to reclaim Callie.

| OK here is MY true story.... ~15 yo we had a couch that had wiggle springs & every once in a while a clip would break. Kevin put the couch on its side, took the bottom cloth off, fixed the couch, reattached the cloth & we set it back upright. A bit later I was in the kitchen & looked into the family room to see a black poking out of the bottom of the couch!!!! Sabb our black mutt cat had gotten into the couch & was closed in....we STILL laugh about his little paw feeling around the outside. |

| OMGOODNESS this is hilarious and sad at the same time.I am glad to hear the kitty was fine and was reunited with its family.I guess its back to the store for another couch. If he has been living in there for three weeks I would assume he also went potty, seems the smell should have alerted them also. Alls well that ends well.
