| this is horrible! i woke up this morning all happy and reading my news until this article caught my eyes this man purposely broke his dog's front 2 legs!! its just horrifying. my yogurt came home with 3 broken paw bones on his front right leg so i know how hard it is on the puppy. thinking about all that healing and therapy that the poor puppy has to go through makes me so angry. its been 2 months since yogurt had his cast removed and his right leg is still visibly smaller than his left and thats with exercise and massage every day. i just had to vent. having gone through casts and looking at x-rays of yogurt's broken bones i cannot imagine how painful of a time that puppy will need healing 2 legs. A 32-year-old man was arrested in Oakland for allegedly breaking both front legs of a 4-month-old Pomeranian puppy named Baby Chloe, an Oakland Animal Services director said today. Kem Eap was arrested Feb. 20 on two felony counts of animal abuse after an anonymous caller told Oakland police that same morning about an injured puppy at a home in the 2000 block of Fifth Avenue, according to Oakland Animal Services Director Adam Parascandola. Police and animal control officers arrived and found the dog hiding under a television set and unable to use her front legs because of an incident that allegedly occurred two days earlier. Baby Chloe had extensive surgery Wednesday to repair her fractured legs, according to Parascandola, who said the surgery cost more than $4,000. Parascandola said the dog "just started using the legs a little bit today and they expect that she'll make a full recovery." The recovery period should take at least six weeks, during which the dog will receive physical therapy, according to Parascandola. She will be put up for adoption once she is healed, he said. The nonprofit Friends of the Oakland Animal Shelter is collecting donations to pay for Baby Chloe's surgery and recovery care, as well as for the veterinary care of other injured shelter animals. |

| That is awful! They should break both of his legs and let him fend for himself for 2 days!
