| Hi Megan...My 13 yr old daughter plays violin. She started in 3rd grade so she has been doing it for 4 years now. I thought she was nuts when she came home wanting to play it but she is doing well and seems to really enjoy it.

I Love Thor Donating Member | I played the violin for many years. I love it! I wish I still played but it got stolen and my family couldn't afford to buy a new one. It is truely a beautiful instrument and I suggest it to anyone. I started in the fifth grade, and its a great way to make friends, etc. I would def. recomend that you start to play it. Do you have a violin yet. Good luck! |

When does you school start? School started here on August 8. It starts way too early now. Of course they are out the week before Memorial Day.

My son is high functioning autistic. My mother-in-law has a violin she said she would give him if we got him lessons. Do you think he would do alright with it? Or do you think another instrument would be better for him?

| I only played violin for a couple of years in elementary school. It was fun, but I chose to focus on piano instead... It can be pretty hard on your fingers I think, but if you're musically inclined, go for it! |
