| Need a little help We're almost entirely moved out of our old house, and in our new house. Does anybody have a method of getting everything put away in an orderly manner. There is so much stuff all over my floors that I just don't know where or how to start to get organized. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

| Wish I could help. I moved 3/4 years ago and combined 2 households of furniture and stuff (mil moved in) and still am not organized. It's like moving all over again but worse. I think trying to get one room done at a time might be the anwer. Can you put all the stuff that belongs in room together and unpack it room by room?

| I've moved 9 times in my 21 years of life and I'm still trying to figure all that out lol I would start with one room, then work your way somewhere else... if you have more than one person helping, assign everyone a room.

| I ALWAYS do the kitchen first. For me, it seems to get me in an organizing mood since all the kitchen stuff goes in their neat little drawers and cabinets. Then I move to the bathrooms. They are quick and easy to get done, so thats a mood booster there. Then the bedrooms. This one takes a while. All the hanging and folding of clothes. Save your decorations/pictures for very last! This way you have everything else exactly where you want it before you decorate.

| Thank you all for your great ideas. Hubby's in the hospital, and kids won't help, so I'm on my own. I decided to put five hours in a day, and then take a break, so far so good. I can see my kitchen, my living room, and my bathrooms. LOL

| I am very very sorry to hear that hubby is in the hospital. I hope he recovers soon. Don't despair, the "stuff" will wait for you. I am living proof. Funny note: Before the third or fourth move (can't remember which) we boxed up some of our horse tack and move it five or 6 times then stored those boxes for another six years before we finally opened them. It was so neat to open those special boxes - the items contained inside brought back so many neat memories. We moved 10 times the first 10 years we were married. Three of those moves I was profoundly pregnant and we move away from all family and friends 1/2 way across the country and two of those we we moved a stallion and a mare. (No we weren't military, hubby was in management and we were always sent to problem areas for him to straighten out). I found the best and only way for me to go about it was to organize the unopened boxes and move them into the appropriate room and then open one box at a time. |
