| Gift for my Vet I need some help coming up with a "thank you" gift for my vet. For several reasons -- 1) Everyone at the practice is just incredible 2) They gave my name out when called about a referral for a Yorkie I want to do something that would include the entire staff -- I was thinking about a basket filled with homemade brownies, cookies and maybe throw in some collars, treats, etc. BUT I would love to hear your ideas. |

| That sounds great Cindy but here's another idea: Instead of the cookie and brownies how about lunch. Make little sandwiches, egg salad, tuna etc and cut into fours, send cookies and brownies for dessert. Put into a pretty basket with a pretty napkin. Add a couple bottles of soda and lunch for doc's and staff is on you. Glad DooDoo went to his forever home. Your vet was very nice to recommend you. |

| I've done that a couple times just as a thank you for putting up with me and tkaing such great care of Ellie. In fact, I started a thread about gift ideas awhile back. That shouldn't be too hard to find and there were great ideas on it. Gift cards, flowers, candy, baskets of coffee, tea, chocolate, etc., lotion, donation to their favorite animal charity, plaques, stationary...

I will do it one day next week and let them know in advance so that they won't make advance "lunch plans". | |

| We bring in little treats to the entire staff where the girls' attend doggie daycare. I thought one of the cutest things we did was make "people chow" and put it in a giant dog food bowl. I should have taken a picture it was really cute! If you aren't familiar with people chow, it's just a mix of Crispix, chocolate and peanut butter...

| Cindy, this is a great thread!!! I appreciate our Vet so much and they go out of their way to care for my babies ( just recently my Little Suzy Q emergency). I just know that your ideas would be such a nice surprise. PS would love to have a copy of your favorite recipe for chicken salad |

| Maybe in the basket, make a greeting card (at walmart or whatever) with a picture of your baby and with a little message from you and tell them how much they are appreciated.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Awww, how sweet of you to do this Cindy! I'm sure they will really appreciate this up at your vets office. I don't know if you ever watch Jon & Kate Plus 8 on TLC (I watch it religiously - love that show ) but anyway - she is always making this stuff called "Monkey Munch" and it sounds sooo good! She says that it is to die for And - it is so easy to make. She makes a whole big container of it at a time and it is GREAT to snack around on. I'm sure they would enjoy a container of it to sit up at the vets office and "MUNCH" around on (get it?? MONKEY MUNCH - lol) Cute too, cause it's called *MONKEY* Munch, and it would be going to a VETS office, lol. It could be given as a little "something extra" - and it's sweet...so it would be great as a little dessert too Here are the ingredients and directions, just incase you wanna give it a go Ingredients: 9 cups Chex cereal, any variety 1 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup butter 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar Directions: Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat. Spread mixture evenly on wax paper or in cupcake liners and allow to cool. Store at room temperature. Keeps 2-3 days.
