| Heartbreak shown on FOX news FOX news just interviewed a guy who watched his wife wash away in the hurricane surge yesterday. It was heartbreaking. I just sat here and cried for him in his grief and pain. I'm glad I saw it. I can pray for him and it makes me appreciate the safety of my family. But it does bother me that news stations show things like that. It seems like such an invasion during their time of grief |

| I agree with you. It sometimes seems like journalists want to get the most shocking, heatbreaking, or unbelievable story from the hurricane (or any other event) to get and keep audiences. I realize that it's news because it happened, but sometimes jounalists take advantage of victims' vulnerability and grief. However, at least someone like you was watching and able to make some good of the situation- I hope more people realize how fortunate they are to have their famililes safe with them. |

| I am so sad.... this is very heartbreaking. I can't imagine what everyone is thinking and feeling in that area. I wish I could be there to help...but unfortunately cannot. They are urging everyone to get out of New Orleans right now.....There will be nothing left in the city. Water is rising and will continue to rise. They do not know how to stop it.... I am going to make a generous donation to the RED CROSS...Thats what I can do........

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I hadn't heard that story but after the big tsunami...hearing this happen so close to home is very scary....how sad for that family. This hurricane was bad but really could have been far worse - I really hope all the families can go back to their homes soon...but for those who lost someone to the storm - that must be very hard to live with |

| I understand you feel that way about journalism. I used to feel that way too and sometimes I still do... BUT, sometimes it is helpful for people to talk about their grief. I actually work for a small television station, and it is the hardest thing to make that phone call to ask people if they want to do do interview in their hard times. We never push people to do interviews. But so many times I get a letter or phone call afterwards that it was helpful for them to talk about it and keep the spirit of the one they lost alive... Now, I have to admit, I work for a very small television station and we are way less agressive than the national media. Anyway, just my personal experience... The story sounds heartbreaking... I am so sad people have to go through this... Keeping all those in that area and those affected by it in my thoughts... |

| I agree with you. It is very helpful for people to share their grief. Also, maybe his wife's body will be identified more easily since he was on the national news. I know there is a purpose in everything. It was hard to watch and took me out of my 'comfort zone', but I am thankful I saw it, had a chance to pray for his family and to give thanks for the safety of mine. |
