| I know a lot of women that use the diva cup or a disposable menstrual cup, some people use a diaphram too, which is supposed to work quite well. I have never heard any of my friends make any negative comments on them, and they swear by them. They are much healthier than a tampon because there is no risk of TSS, and I have heard they are more comfortable as well. They are also supposed to decrease your flow as well over time as they do not draw fluid in the way an absorbant product would. Now that I have weaned my 19 month old, I should be resuming a regular cycle soon and I am going to try a diaphram, since I already have one of those

| I've read a lot about all of the different menstrual cups on the Everyday Minerals (makeup) forum. I know a lot of the women there love them and if I remember correctly, there were pretty strong opinions on brand preferences. You might want to take a peek over there,

| I remember when I was reading about them before that one of the more popular brands has a different name in the EU. Not sure if it was Diva or not.

| I've never used that myself so I can't be of help but I found this interesting site on feminine products....They are re-usable...... Reusable Menstrual Products | GladRags.com Once in a while I used to find a panty liner in the dryer that accidently was left in my clothes and I joked that I was rewashing them, I never thought someone actually made them....Darn, I guess I lost out on another money making idea!

| I had absolutely NO IDEA that anything like this even existed!!! Not sure they'd be much use to me-I have a tilted womb so my cerfix points real far back (much more than it should) apparently it should have made it difficult if not impossible for me to get pregnant naturally (I have had 4 kids with no probs!). I'd love to hear how get on if you decide to try it out though!

Wow, 19months and you still don't have your cycle? Amelia is 1 and I'm still nursing her and my cycle started again at 6months. I lucked out. Quote:
Is it practical? I mean like when you're out and you have to use public conviences.

Some women buy two and when they have to be away all day just dump and stick in a ziplock baggie and insert the second clean one. Honestly, I will never go back to paper products again. | |

| The idea grosses me out... bad. However, I've only really read good reviews about it, people on the grocery game forum talk about it all the time and how they'll never go back to anything else.

| It grossed me out too at first, only because I thought that (not to be too graphic here) it would be messy to change in public...I was thinking big mess on hands and stuff. Everyone assured me that you stay clean because it collects it all and it doesn't spill as it comes out. OP- I am so ultra paranoid about TSS, not to mention I just think that tampons are super uncomfortable. When I have used them I used the slender teen ones (even though I have lots of kids ) and it always just felt like something was in there. I think I would die using supers. I have a crazy story...not really great for a public forum, but long story short, I got af at my mil's and she only had playtex which I never used, and I hate those. I used it since there were no options and when I got home an hour later PANICKED because I couldn't get it out....it was BAD, I was crying and everything, lol...good times. Anyway, I have gotten a few cycles over the past few months, but they were like hardly anything, so I am anticipating normalacy soon. I don't ever get af back the first year at least of bfing.

I like the idea of a second one. I think I'm nearly convinced on getting one to try on my next cycle.
