Donating YT 11K Club Member | I spent the day in the emergency room I woke up with an immense and horrifying pain in my left abdominal. All of a sudden i got really pale and was having shivers and hot sweats. I was shaking and literally felt like i was dying. My mom is in Puerto Rico, it just so happens i get sick when she's not here She works in a hospital so we called her and she told us to go there, it took forever while we waited for my uncle to get here. The pain was unbearable, i couldn't even get my self dressed or feed the dogs, i was going to faint. this was at 7 a.m. Well finally after getting there and screaming like i was giving birth, they injected me, put morphine in me and i felt numb. I took a CAT scan and it turns out i have a kidney stone, maybe more. My mom though it would be my appendix and need surgery but thankfully it wasnt cause i dont have insurance right now. It turned out to be the stones, i cant believe it. I just got home and have been throwing up the whole day, i cant keep water down, nothing. I need to eat to take the medicine but im afraid and the stones are still in me, and im teriffied cause they said when they come out it hurts like birth. im scared to go to the bathroom and i dont know what to eat. Has anyone had these before? And i rarely drink soda, they said i was dehydrated and you can also get it from certain foods. I have no idea what to eat, and my mom is not here, only my bf. He spent the whole day with me and also my grandmother. I feel so sick, does anyone have experience with this?

| So sorry you are in such pain. The only thing I know about them is that you can be thankful you aren't a guy trying to pass them. And, yes, they are very painful to pass. I guess, with no insurance, that laser blasting isn't an option. Can they dissolve them?

| You poor thing! Try some ginger ale, peppermint tea or Perrier water to help ease your stomach (Perrier, no other brand of mineral water will work). The Perrier tastes terrible so mix it with some apple juice or ice tea mix. Eat some soda crackers. That should be enough food to have with your meds. Force fluids. If you can't keep fluids down, get to the doctor for IVs and anti-nausea meds. Follow the instructions that the hospital gave you. This is painful but it should pass with the stones. Kidney stones are miserable, they bring big men to their knees. If you have not passed the stones in a day or two or if you have bloody urine, get back to the hospital. They can do ultrasound and other things to dissolve the stones if they don't pass.

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | Oh Hon, I am so sorry you are going through this. I'm much older than you, but I too am going through this. We left to go out of town last Sat early morning & it was a 7 hr car ride. That evening is when I started to have cramping in lower stomach area. I knew something was wrong when it didn't go away. The next day, the pain moved to my left side, lower stomach area & lower back area. The pressure was intense. Well, the worse pain for me did wait til we were back home. Arrived home late Mon night, went to bed & around 3:00 am awoke to intense pain/pressure accompanied with nausea! The next morning I went to urologist & xrays showed 2 stones. My file also showed xrays from 2005 & the stones were much smaller then. Yes, I don't want to scare you, but sometimes they do take a long time to pass. Good news for me is that now the pressure/pain has subsided. I only had to take 1 pain med....it really knocked me out. He prescribed Flomax which really helped alot. You only take it @night & it relaxes so that you are able to pass the stone more easily. And the doctor sent me home with meds for nausea. You definitely need that. The pain med could also make you feel even worse with nausea. You do need lots & lots of liquids & try to eat a little. I'm so sorry that your Mom is away right now. If there is anything, anything at all that I can help with any questions you might have, I'm right here. I know how scary it is. My Dad & brother have history with stones, so I was constantly asking them. HUGS to you & I hope the meds are helping to make you more comfortable. Pls keep us updated! HUGS!!

| Didnt they mention giving the laser treatment? It breaks the stones down to fine particles and you don't even know your passing them. I'm so sorry you are in such bad shape, and at your young age. I sure hope you find something you can keep down. Maybe ginger ale and saltine crackers would help.

| It does really hurt. I brought my husband to the hospital, and had to wheel him in. They had him stay the night, and the stones left,, but they did keep him a morphene. Hope you're better soon.
