| Oh my heck! Roxy's thrill and my horror!! Ok. So yesterday, Roxy and I went to town. When she gets back from town, she is usually pretty wiped out. So we were sitting on the couch and she was in my lap falling asleep, when all of a sudden she went flying off of my lap and ran to the dining room area. I heard her little paws skittering around, and then she sounded like she was pouncing. I got up to look, and there she is standing by a little mouse, staring at it, and prancing . The mouse was totally still. I looked closer and the eyes were open. I couldn't tell if it was dead or alive, but I didn't see any blood at all. I called my ex-husband in a panic and asked what to do. He kept telling me to pick it up and get it outside. NOT!!!! Finally he told me to put a glass on it until Scott got home. I got a large mixing bowl and put it over the mouse. At that point, the mouse sprang to life and was running around going crazy inside the bowl. And speaking of going crazy, at that point, Roxy went nuts. When we both finally calmed down, Roxy laid by the bowl and kept watch for hours - until my son got home. She alternated between pawing at the bowl, sniffing the bowl, and just laying about a foot away watching it. At times when she was sniffing the bowl, the mouse was curious about her to - instead of running to the other side of the bowl, the mouse would go over and stare at her too. I mean, stand on its hind legs and stare. I know historically this is what they were bred for. But she was wearing a pink bow with diamonds on it - you would think that would help "prissify" her a little! We live in the foothills - we have deer come into our yard, and bunny rabbits. That was all fine. But this mouse in the house thing is NOT an ok thing. At any rate, I just wanted to share my trauma, and Roxy's delight with all of you!

| Wow! What a story! We had a mouse in the house once (well more than once) but this time we let Sapphire loose in the living room where we thought it was, and all she did was pee on the carpet...

| Oh Courtney - you make me laugh! I was so horrified - I think I would have preferred that she peed on the carpet!

| Eek! I hate mice too! I couldn't have stood the clear bowl, I would have had to use something I couldn't see through!

| You are very brave. I don't know if I would have been able to even put the bowl on it. Your baby has an eagle eye. COCO PEBBLES TRIXIE |

| That's hilarious, DeLisa! Harley hasn't found any mice yet, but Misty (our Australian Shepherd mix) found one in our old house once (when she was a puppy). She finally caught it in the middle of the night. Tim found it in the middle of the living room the next morning - beheaded! Luckily he cleaned it all up before he would let me come in the room. He didn't want me to have to see it. I'm sooo glad he found it and not me!

| I would freak out too! I found one in my dryer once! Thank goodness Roxy found the little critter and you didn't have to come across it another way! That mixing bowl thing is so funny. Do you think the mouse was playing dead for Roxy? Or maybe Roxy did something that stunned the mouse and then it came to. I looked at your photobucket, but when I clicked for a larger image, it was still a tiny image that popped up, so I couldn't really see the mouse. Way to go, Roxy! Keep that house mouse free!!!
