| American Girl Dolls I was reminiscing today about being ten years old, and one of the first things that came to mind was the American Girl series. I read all the books they had when I was young, and I even got one of the dolls for Christmas. My parents combined my allotted birthday and Christmas money to get it for me. I had the Samantha doll, and my mother made me all of her clothes because her accessories were very expensive. My grandfather even made me a bed and desk for her. Anyone else had one of the dolls, read the books, or gave one of the dolls to a young girl?

| I had Samantha too! And my sister had Molly. Then later on I ordered one where you could choose what it looked like and name it. I loved the American Girl books..I read all of them too. I loved all the pretty accessories Samantha had and her pretty dresses. I still have them all at my parents house..I think I have her whole bedroom set, wardrobe, and a few other accessories. I always wanted her birthday party but I dont know where I would have put it LOL. I love to change her outfits and do her hair. They have so many different dolls now...there is even an American Girl store in Dallas so I hear.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I had Molly. I remember the year I got her...I guess I was 7 or so. I got her for Christmas from my parents. Then I opened another gift and it was a wheelchair for Molly, opened another present and it was a horse for Molly, opened another present and it was an outfit for Molly, and so on. So I remember being excited about Molly, but after about the 5th time of opening a present and finding something for Molly, I turned to my parents and said "Why does Molly get all the presents this year?" hahaha. I still have her. She recently went back to the American Girl Place with my aunt to have her hair done. and now she sits on my dresser looking cute.

| My girls had the Bitty Babies (part of the American Girl collection) when they were little. My mom absolutely loved buying them new outfits. The clothes and the shoes were so well made. I would only buy the outfits when they went into the clearance section though. They have a very large collection now of all the outfits and toys and bring them out when younger cousins come over to play. Now my mom is having a ball buying it all for my 3 year old niece.

| I hope you still have Samantha. She has been retired this past December 08. They are just beautiful. My granddaughter has 9 and I love buying her matching things to her dolls. It's a wonderful series for young girls and the books you can just get lost in. I visited AG in NYC last month with my daughter and I wanted to start a collection of my own. LOL Everything is just beautiful. In this day of technoglogy is so nice to have somthing that does not have to be plugged in |

| I love American Girl dolls. I have Addy and Josefina. It was so fun dressing them and ordering all of their books. My parents used to buy me the outfits to match with theirs. It was so much fun! I even went to the little fashion show/tea parties that the American Girl company held. Sooooo much fun! Wow...thanks for the walk down memory lane...even though it makes me feel super old! lol

| My daughter Lauryn had 3 of them. We even visited the American Girl in Chicago. Had dinner, watched a play, etc. An awesome experience. I wish I had all the money I have spend on them and their clothes, bed, matching clothes, etc. Lauryn has all the book series and they are great. Of course, she is older now and dont play with them, but they are put up for her kids to enjoy way way way in the future. Lexi has the Bitty Baby, and the Bitty Twins from the American Girl line. All the clothes, and accessories, etc. For her 5th Birthday, we will be taking another trip to Chicago for her to enjoy the whole experience too. Which will be this summer. American Girls are great!!! |

| My dtr had Kirsten, because her name is Krysten and she, too, is blond w/blue eyes. When I was a kid, Tiny Tears and Betsy Wetsy were the dolls to have. I wish the American Girl Dolls had been around then.

| My mom started to collect other 18 inch dolls once we had Samantha. Now she has lots of accessories for them all and has them displayed in their home. She changes their decor for the seasons and everything. Let me see if I can find a picture of what she did with them last Christmas. PIC_0010.JPGPIC_0009.JPGPIC_0014.JPGPIC_0015.JPG

| Just gave one to my 7 year old grandaughter for Christmas. Kit Kitteridge...she was so excited!! She had just gone to a sleepover for a friend and the theme was American Girl! All the girls brought their American Girl Dolls, but, Abby was the only one that didnt have one! So, of course, Nanny, (that's me) had to fix that!! Why the heck are these dolls and their accessories so darn expensive??!! Here she is with her surprise!!
