Digital Postal Scales - Revisited Well, I think my postal scale died. Sometime last year one of the pups chewed the cord in half. Being rather handy (If I do say so myself) I repaired the cord and the scale worked fine. But I rearranged my "shipping station" and moved the scale - now it won't work. I even re-spliced the cord - and had my son check it. The cord is getting power, but the scale is not. So it looks like I am in the market for a new one. Has anyone had experience with the new digital scales that has the USB port that connects to your computer. The information states that the scale will automatically plug the weight into PayPal shipping. Sounds too good to be true.

I have had one of these for several years: DIGITAL 75 LB SHIPPING POSTAL SCALE POSTAGE LB SCALES W - eBay (item 350148935511 end time Feb-03-09 08:23:52 PST) And it has been reliable and accurate (as far as I know, as nothing's been returned to me). I haven't heard anything about a USB one, they look like they are about $10 more, pretty neat if it can directly input the weight for you. 60# "ULTRASHIP U2" USB DIGITAL SHIPPING POSTAL SCALE z - eBay (item 250351880586 end time Jan-06-09 15:38:57 PST)

FE - thank you for the link - I'm going to try batteries to see if maybe my power source is defective and if it isn't I'm going to bite the bullet and get one of the USB scales. On a side note, I bought three of these for $1.00 each a few years ago when Staples was having a clearance - they were on the $1.00 shelf and I grabbed all they had SALTER BRECKNELL [PB500] Handheld Balance Scale - eBay (item 320076215343 end time Jan-15-09 09:34:14 PST)

Seriously, if it is your power source, can you order parts and perhaps replace just the power source? Good luck!

I'm in the market for a new one also. it just went berserk. Started giving weights when there was nothing on it. Had to borrow one from my daughter. I like to weigh my puppies daily.
