| Does anyone have experience with Papillon My fiance and I are looking into getting Cookie a playmate. Cookie is currently 4.5 lbs to 5 lbs at 8 months. Were hoping to get another dog who will be simular to Cookie's weight. I prefer another yorkie buy my fiance wants another breed and I agreed as long as its similar to Cookie's size. We found an ad for a male Papillon who is currently 9 weeks old. Both the parents are 5 lbs . The Papillon pup is registered with ACA and will have a 9 month health guarantee. I had asked the current owners if we can take a look at the pup before we make any decision, they are fine with that. Is there anything else I should know about a papillon before deciding to take the pup. I did some research on the breed and its pretty similar to a yorkie. Does anyone have a yorkie and a papillon? How do they get along? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

| I have Sammy a 7 year old -15 pound teapot Papillion. He was an abused rescue when we found him in Philadelphia 6 years ago. Sammy has never played with a toy. He does like chewy sticks though!! Baron is my 1 year old-7 pound Yorkie. He has alot of energy and loves to play with his and the cat's toys, Sammy does not. They do run around the house and chase and growl @ each other. They're about the same size it's just that Sammy's overweight. In personality they're very similar. Neither one is a barker but both do bark when people come over. They both settle down though once the people are here for awhile. I think they're a goos match for each other. Good Luck finding your #2 baby. I'm looking for a #3 baby girl this time....

| Thank you so much. I still have my heart set on another yorkie but which ever dog we decide on I will love just as much. I will go see the pup and see in what conditions he is in, hopefully its good. Wish me luck. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I used to baby sit a papillion. I love them! They're great dogs. Very spunky, love to cuddle, and good with other dogs (for the most part). And they're just precious!

| Before we got Coral, we looked into them and I believe I read they are REALLY high-energy and territorial. I could be wrong though.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | We (husbands idea ) adopted a papillon (Scout) back in Oct., he was about 14 wks and 2.9lbs. Now at 6 months he is just under 6lbs and I don't expect him to get much bigger. My yorkies are 3.5 and 5lbs, they are not known for accepting other dogs. With most of the foster dogs I take in, Ruby and Reno won't have much to do with them. Scout has been different though, they accepted him almost from day one. Scout is the happiest dog I've ever been around, he is also VERY smart. He gets along with all of the foster dogs, plays with them but never too rough. Ruby never shares a bed with any of the new kids, but she does with Scout. Ruby Pics 2785.jpg

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | One of the members here, "Wildcard", breeds Papillons and she has beautiful babies. I bet she'd have great advice too.

| I think Paps are beautiful. We almost bought one (from a petstore... i know, i know!) and he was soooo loving, playful, and calm. We were holding him and he'd fall asleep in our arms, but when we took him into the "play room" he was chasing balls and just all over the place having a grand ol' time. Every breed has their bad and good though. I don't think personality is based on breed, but should be based on the dog.

| My sister had a yorkie and papillion for many years. Her yorkie died a few years ago but she still has her pap. She is around 15 yrs old. She says she is a wash and wear dog and much easier to groom than her yorkie was |

| I breed Yorkies and Papillons!! They are wonderful dogs (both breeds). They get along great! I have found that Paps get along well with just about any breed, not territorial, just good, fun natured, SMART dogs! I have 3 males and 1 female that are 10 weeks old today. They have had their 2nd set of shots and are ready for their forever homes! Males are $400 and females are $500. Let me know if you are interested! Thanks! Jill Brooks

| Thank you all for your advice but I googled the email address that has been replying back to me and it turns out its a so called breeder in Missouri posting in a New York City ad. With a website that seems designed by a 6 year old. And only takes cash, checks, money orders, and western union. And supposely ships the pup once she has the cash. Like I'm really gonna fall for that one, yea right. I guess the search continues for my next baby. I am trying to stay local. I would like to see the pup before I decide to take it. Thank you all for your help. |
