| Mediterranean Diet questions, need recipes! Has anyone tried the Mediterranean Diet? If so, I have some questions. Is it easy to live with? (I love bread....) Have you lost weight eating this kind of diet? Can you suggest a substitute for olives? (I'm OK with olive oil, can't look at olives). Lastly, do you have recipes you can share for meals that are quick and easy? I need to do most of my heavy cooking on the weekend, and just heat things up or do fast prep meals during the week. I also need ideas for lunch on the road. Thanks much and have a healthy 2009 everyone!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Just wanted to tell you good luck. I think this diet looks delicious, I love Medit. food! Plus, it should be satisfying bc it contains enough good fats, and breads - and isn't just about restriction.

| Update Week one on this eating plan has been great. I'm not hungry all the time like I used to be. Yesterday I got busy and totally forgot to eat lunch. Normally I would be on the verge of collapse, but I just wasn't hungry and felt fine! 3 lbs. lost this week. Have not been exercising much due to ongoing foot problem but things are going in the right direction. Sunday is my cooking day. Home cooking is the only thing about this plan that takes much discipline. My latest favorites are Eggplant Parmesan and Vegie Lasagna. I love that I can eat Salmon as often as I want, and as much as I want, though I don't seem to want too much. A handful of nuts is a great snack, I don't miss chips and other junk food much at all. I've kicked my chocolate cravings with fat free sugar free instant chocolate fudge pudding made with non fat milk. The only real rules that I follow are whole grains (nothing white), and no eating starch with meat. If I'm craving carbs, I eat some sort of vegies with pasta or a portabello mushroom burger on whole grain or whole wheat pita bread. I highly recommend eating Mediterranean.

| Wow congratulations- sounds like you are doing fantastic! Isn't it funny how you lose your cravings for junk food when you are eating a healthy balanced diet? I notice when I eat poorly even one day I get all kinds of weird cravings for terrible food the next few days that I normally wouldn't even think about.

YT 2000 Club Member | Congratulations! I bet you are excited with you success! It's funny how just eating healthy can make a big impact on your life. I changed my eating habits back in spring last year, I now eat only a vegetarian diet. I lost a lot of food cravings when I did too. I found that munching on baby carrots help when you get a chip craving I do not miss my old eating habits one bit! I have a lot more energy than I ever did and I also lost quite a bit of weight and I still am
