What in the heck is wrong with me?? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Ok so last night Ryan and I went out late and met some old friends that I hadnt seen in a long time. As we sat there laughing it up with our old friends, my ex, the one that I was with when I met Ryan years ago, walks into the bar. After a little while he came over and said HI to all the people sitting at our table since he too used to hang out with all of them. They all made small talk with him for a little bit and then he went to his table with the friends that he was with. A little while later, I wanted to play pool and it just so happened at that same moment so did the girl that the ex was with, so no biggie, we played a game of pool. Well as she was shooting, I noticed she had a ring on. MY RING!!!! The same damn engagement ring that he gave me. I shot Ryan a look and he came over by me as well as a few of the other guys at the table cause they didn't know what was going on and my ex is kinda psycho so they didn't wanna take any chances of being too far away. SO I filled the group in on the ring. Apparently she over heard the converstation and asked about it. I told her that the ring that she had on was the same ring that he had given me when he proposed to me. She looked alittle shocked. I kinda felt for her. Well the ex gets up and comes over to where we are all standing and asks what is up so I told him. He claimed that it wasn't so I asked her if there was engraving on the inside of the band that said, my only love, true and forever. She said yes and got really mad. He then told her that he didn't know what else to do because he wanted to propose but didn't have the $$ to get a new ring. She understood. HE then tried starting stuff with me and Ryan. ASking a bunch of stuff about us and this and that. No biggie. So a few games of pool go by and he comes up to me and asks if he can talk to me. I didn't really want to but did.
He said that he wants to say that he is sorry for all the crap in the past, he gives Ryan and I his best wishes blah blah blah. I ask why he is doing this and saying this and he said it is because him and Candy (yeah candy is her name) are getting married in November and he wants a clear conscience.
So we leave the bar later and head home and all I can think about is the stuff that he ex said. How naive that girl is and how much I hope he treats her better than me. I got in the shower when I got home cause I hate smelling like a bar. While I was in there my mind just started going, it was like hearing that he is getting married hit me like a ton of bricks. I sat in the shower under the water until all the hot water was gone just thinking. Then when I got out Ryan asked what was wrong and I said I didn't know cause honestly I dont.
Today I still feel wierd. Seriously why in the hell is this hitting me so hard. I mean I have so much hate for my ex and the way that he treated me. Seeing him makes me want to throw up. Any idea??

B/c you care/cared for him that is why its hurting so much...
you say you hate hime but then only reason you feel that way is b/c you care.. its a concern.

that is so wrong what he did recycling the ring WTF is that!! he couldve resold or something that ring and got a different one ..
his new fiance is crazy... i would never accept a used ring....

I think it's because you cared for him at one time. Even thought you depise him now, you use to care for him. Love and hate are strong feelings that are very similar as well as very different. I think you'll feel better in a day or two after you get over the shock.

It sounds like the age old "I don't want him, but I don't want anyone else to have him either!" Also, you may be feeling "replaceable." Don't worry....you're much better off without him! What a loser with the ring and all!

Ya know, its wierd, its not like its hurting because its not. It actually makes me feel closer to Ryan. I just cant stop thinking about it.

I cant believe the ring thing though. He had to have gotten it resized cause I wear a size 4 1/2-5 ring. and this girl was not even close to being my size.

He was a very big part of your life, When he gave you the ring you believed in his love, Now someone else is wearing it, Makes you think about how special or not you were to him. Now he found someone else, But the good news is you did too, Only better, Try to be happy for him, but know in your heart that you did the right thing and got rid of him before it was too late.
