| Where's my Christmas Spirit? Is anyone having a hard time finding their Christmas spirit? I love Christmas but for some reason this year I could care less. I hardly have the house decorated and for the first time ever we do not have any lights outside. I was hoping that someone else in the family would have Christmas but they are still looking for me to do it and I really do not want to. I have to work Christmas Eve. I have had Christmas for 20 years and it seems no one else will do it for the family. Oh my what is going on. I also noticed that not many folks around here have decorated like years past. Christmas is almost here and to me it just seems like I don't even care. HUH? |

| I know what you mean. The only thing that keeps me going with Christmas spirit is my 7 year old son. I can understand though. The outlet for christmas spirit is our family and friends mainly. You must be frustrated that they don't really want to help.

| :( Ditto. I so understand. I am having the same problem. I usually decorate my house from one end to another. Trees are usually in the family room, each bedroom (3), bathroom, dining room and my "doggie" tree. But....I have my tree in the family room and my doggie tree up and that's it. Just not in mood this year. My boys are grown and one is married. My parents could care less about Christmas and I am like you, I have to do everything. It does feel good to hear that someone else is having the same problem. At least I am not alone.

| Just the other night, my fiance and I noticed that our house is the only one on our block with any christmas lights outside. Last year, several houses had lights. Christmas is my favorite time of the year as its the only time that my family gathers together. It makes me sad that others are feeling so down about what should be a happy time.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm with you!!! This is incredibly depressing to me, because Christmas is really my absolute favorite time of year. I've always said in the past that I wish Christmas time lasted all year! Our tree is up, the houses are all decorated, but I'm just not feeling it. I looked at the calendar and saw that there were 11 days left until Christmas and it really depressed me! I usually have a count down going starting in July ()! *sigh* I don't know. I think I'm missing the cold weather. The weather really gets me into it...and I've barely needed a coat so far! It seems like a lot of people are really just not into it this year. Houses that are usually decked out just have a string of lights or whatever out. I think that everyone is really just feeling down about the world's situation right now, and it's taking a damper on Christmas. Personally, I find it very hard to get into the spirit of Christmas when I'm buying a "Holiday Tree" . I'm not trying to be political or anything, but it's hard to get into the spirit when you have to worry about offending everyone!

| Al least I'm not alon I know this is so depressing for all us to feel the same but at least I am not abnormal this year. It must be the outside influence of what is going on in the world. I have always loved Christmas! Myabe our Christmas spirit is just late this year. |

| I have it. Kinda. Certainly not as much as I did last year. I'm too stressed financially to enjoy Christmas as much as I usually do. It's sad, really. :'( |

| I LOVE Christmas. I tend to drag it out as long as I can...but I agree , this year it just feels different. My kids are so excited that I can't help but get pulled in ...but I don't have the Christmas spirit like I usuallly do. My house is decorated , Christmas music is playing , and Christmas shows seems to be constantly on T.V. but I just find myself thinking about all the stuff we have to do after Christmas is over. I put on a happy face with my kids but with everything going on this past year I think alot of people are having a hard time finding the Joy of the Season. I was at the mall...and there was NOBODY shopping. I walked past 3-4 stores without passing another person ! It seems no one has the Spirit this year , sad but understandable.

| I don't have the Christmas spirit either. Last Christmas was my first Christmas without Mom...now this year is our first Christmas without my nephew, Rich. It seems that the holidays are even harder than other days because we have to face them without Dad, Mom and now Rich. I wish I could feel joy in my heart, but I don't.

| I'm hearing the same thing from so many people.... it's a hard one this year. I've been trying to get decorations out, and the tree still is not done, shopping not finished; but I'm going to give it an extra push tomorrow. I think the sad state of the economy is really putting a damper on things, and I keep thinking of all the little kids who won't get much of anything this year. At least it is a good time to try to help others this year.... that will make me feel better. I'm actually looking forward to a NEW YEAR more than anything.

| Christmas is just so depressing this year. Hubby laid off, no money. I have a little 1 foot tree up for grand children. My yard is usally decorated to the hilt. Like some of you, I have been the only one to do the decorating, shopping and cooking. Not this year. I told hubby if we don't get invited somewhere we're no eating. The only people getting anything are my 2 grand children and MIL. I just want it to all go away. |
