what does this sentence mean? We were having fun with this one in grammar class last night

The lioness turned on her trainer

The english language is so crazy....one sentence can mean so many things...

I would imagine they want it to mean that the lioness attacked the trainer. However, when us dirty minded people read it we think the lioness uh turned on "wink wink" her trainer. Naughty kitty

I think it clearly means that the trainer fell down, she jumped on him and spun around. lol

I love wordplay like that. This is a reach, but it could happen:

Desperate for escape, the lioness mauled everyone in the cage. After passing up the door and walking across the bodies, the lioness turned on her trainer and made a left out the door.

lmao......... these were all the ones that we came up with in calss, i can tell you that we were laughing histerically when we got to the one about the trainer beign "aroused" by the lioness

yeah hes allright, when you can understand what he is saying.... he has a VERY THICK chinese accent so it is hard and he goes off on tangeants and doesnt answere your questions adequatly....... but other than that, he is ok so far.........lol
sorry, i am over critical of teachers (studying to be one myself i kind of cant help it)

I can understand that. I don't know why most English instructors are so boring. I love the subject, and it has the potential to be so much fun, but almost every class I had was boring. Just make the most of it, and you'll be fine.
