| Speaking of Family Traditions..... Reading some posts about family traditions for Thanksgiving...I thought it would be fun to see what family traditions (if any) some of my YT family have. Here are a few in my house......(just a few to get things started) We do a game night and a suprise night once a month (game night - playing board games, popcorn, etc..no matter how busy we are) (surpise night - just that...either take out at home, or a fancy dinner made at home, maybe little gifts, etc) We also spend Christmas Eve at my parents - nothing like the smell of my parents house for the holidays...brings back sooo many wonderful memories!

| We had been all gathering at my cousins house, where we brought something. She cooks both turkey & ham, and ALL the side fixings she fixed & others brought...and lay it out buffet style. We'd eat at the table, with overflow of people into the living room watching Football on tv. Everyone was invited, even our Pets! It was awesome.I'll miss that this year because we moved so far away. Christmas Eve my dad used to make traditional Sausage Kolaches and Strudel.(we're Czech background). I try to carry on that tradition now that he's passed on. It's kind of sad now that whoever is not deceased lives far away. "sniff"....now I"m going to get even more nostalgic than I've been this week. |

| oh fun. When we lived in Sault Ste Marie- every Christmas even we had a come and go at our house- 40 or so people would come and so would "Santa" I remember as a kid watching in the backyard for him to walk up to the door! Many people would say- it was never Christmas until our come and go. It was SUCH a special time. Now that all the kids are older and we dont' live in the Soo we go to Florida every year and every Christmas Eve we watch Christmas Vacation- and every year we laugh harder than the last. New Year's Eve dinner is always crab legs, lobster and steak |

| Christmas eve at my grandparents house. Always! New Years Day is always chinese food! don't know why, just is that way! Homemade pork pies on the holidays are a staple! Along with a well stocked condiment tray! haha

| We really don't have any, but I'd love to start some! I told DH this year we're wearing matching pj's on Christmas morning and so will the furbabies -- he seems thrilled about that one, lol! But he is a good sport and will play along |

| Another one... Every October (the Sunday before Halloween) we do a chili dinner at my house w/ Halloween games, hayride, etc. AND on Halloween...we still go trick or treating...anymore, it is just to our relatives houses....but we always go...even if we are not dressed up. (it's just another excuse for a quick visit w/ those we love and may not get to talk to or see often)

| My Mom always cooks beef stew and ham biscuits but I don't eat either beef or pork anymore. We always watch The Muppet Christmas Carol and Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special. They are so funny! We also go to Disney for Christmas. This will be our third year! We have several traditions that we do every year there.

| Oh i forgot- when my grandma was alive we made Genettis (an Italian dessert) all year around (baptisms, easter) But especially around Christmas- but now that she isn't alive anymore - my mother and I make them- but we know she is here with us Especially when i want to put BRIGHT colors on for the icing- she always said they had to be dainty pastel colors |

I wish we had traditions. Used to when I was younger but they seem to have all been forgotten.
