Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Recipes and Opinions please With every Christmas, we get more and more involved in the shopping,in the rush, trying to figure out what to get for family members is torture, either they have it, or it's to expensive and I can't buy it, loosing the real spirit of what Christmas is all about, it gets to be so stressful, that from the day after Thanksgiving to Dec 25, the only thing we do is run from store to store, and check our credit cards statement, our bank statement, or check books, and pray for a miracle on the January statements. This year, do to obvious circumstances, we decided,... well, I decided, to cut back on spending, and enjoying the season, the children, of course, will get their presents from Santa, it will be nice if the adults in the family, exchange presents, something like a Secret Santa, we'll do that on Thanksgiving night, since we are all together, that way we get to give only one present, but here it's the thing, it needs to be something very special, preferably something handmade, it does not matter what it is, just the fact that it's hand made, will make it extra special. The day after Thanksgiving, instead of going to the stores, we'll start decorating, there is a radio station 93.9 already playing Christmas music 24hrs. until Christmas. Now, all this long story, is because I need easy cookie recipes, something that packs well, and last for a few days,I would like to give to our neighbors, instead of the wine bottle that gets passed around from year to year, from neighbor to neighbor. I already have, from last years Michaels' after Christmas sale,a few pretty boxes that I can use, also wax paper, so i just need different recipes. Will you help??? And since I'm on the roll, I want to be the first to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS

| If I have to say so myself, I have a butter cookie receipe to die for! At least that is what I've been told over the last 45yrs. Sorry Mary, I don't have it memorized, I should but I don't want to make a mistake. I can get it for you for tomorrow, ok? I would make the cookies, then icing them too. Put them into pretty Christmas tins and place them all over the dinning room table. The kids just loved it. I would start two weeks before Christmas baking them. Everyday they came home from school there would be another tin or two on the table. At the end of two weeks there were so many pretty tins on the table. Memories I miss those day's. I will bring it in tomorrow for you. Happy baking. |
