| Everyone...PLEASE do this for yourself and your loved ones! If you dont have Insurance like me... This morning I got up at 8...(early for me..lol) just in time to see on our local news About The Susan G Komen breast and cervical cancer program . They had a special call in 2 hour program going on for FREE mammogram's and Pap tests in our area~ I called in...They told me things they didn't even say on TV. Not only do they pay for those 2 tests. BUT if you need follow up testing..sonograms. Mri's ..biopsy.... hospital whatever they pay for it !!! If it is found you have cancer they will pay for treatment until you get on medicare. (People are covered under medicare if disabled by life threating illness) I told them how husbands unemployment benefits have run out and how I had the lumps removed almost 5 years ago now. And he lost his health Ins 4 years ago. They marked my application as rush. But they said everyone should get the packet within 2 weeks. She is hoping I get mine sooner. The income guidelines are something like 42,000 per year for a couple /no children .. Much higher if you have children. You can NOT have Insurance, and you have to be 40 or over. Use this link to find out where to get this in your area !! Please do this for YOU and your loved ones !!!!! Susan G. Komen for the Cure

| Thanks for head's up. I'm lucky enough to have ins thru my emp, but went many years without any. A program like that should help many women who might go without any treatment for fear of the cost if anything is found. Our country desperately needs some major medical industry reforms so that everyone can benefit from affordable treatments.

| I'm going to look into this and FWD it along to folks in my address book whom I know don't have insurance. I used to not have insurance, and it was a scary time in my life. I remember I upped my car insurance personal injury coverage in case I got in a Wreck so AT LEAST that would be covered "if I was ever in a wreck". God Forbid I got breast cancer or something, cuz that would've meant certain bankruptcy. And I was working at the time.. (just no benefits available thru my employer, not even ones I could pay for.) I have so much I can say about this .. but I won't..cuz I don't want to get into a "political debate".... I just agree with the prior poster... some reform NEEDS TO HAPPEN... cuz everyone needs healthcare, not just the rich. |
