| Please don't forget Carbon Monoxide detectors!! Its that time of year again when furnaces are kicking on and woodburners are getting going. Carbon Monoxide is a silent killer. It is odorless and invisible. Don't think that because you have a new furnace or house, or that you have a trusty furnace that has never given you problems, that you are safe from it. Please, please, especially if you have children, go out and get a Carbon Monoxide detector. They are different from smoke detectors, and most plug into the wall. Follow manufacturers instructions and place them where they are supposed to be. Many need to be replaced yearly. I know times are tough for some, but if it means eating mac and cheese for dinner for a week to keep your family safe, its worth it. Carbon Monoxide poisoning can take effect quickly, and is fatal in most cases because it causes you to get tired first, so you don't even realize you are being poisoned. Head out and buy one today if you havent yet this year!

| I think that is GREAT!!!! that your reminding all of us about how important Carbon Monoxide Detectors are. That happened to my sister and her family. They had a coal stove and went to bed one night with it on. Somehow by the grace of God, my sister woke up and was so disoriented and put two and two together, woke up her husband and two sons and then called 911. They all were taken to the hospital but released soon after. They DO....Save Lives!!!!!

| Last year something similar happened around here. There was a family that was sleeping, and one of them woke up to one of their kids fussing. The child was older, and was fussing almost like a baby would and was very incoherent and the parents were very disoriented. They got out and had to be treated at the hospital, but made it. They were one of the few that I have heard of that have been so fortunate in that type of situation.
