| Anyone here have an ORECK vaccum? I'm thinking about getting an Oreck vaccum. My sister has one and I borrowed it after I hadn't vaccumed for an entire month (yes, it's embarrassing). The Oreck was like a dream come true. So light, so powerful. And I love that it has a bag vs. a cannister, which I have now. I feel like my house gets dirty again every time I empty the cannister. And I have so much dog hair in my house I end up having to empty the canister so many times while vaccuming that it ends up taking me FOREVER to vaccum my house. I put a new bag on my sister's Oreck when I borrowed it and I only used a fraction (less than 1/4) of the bag. Anyone here have one?? I want to get reviews from others before I spend a bunch of money on one. |

| Not sure if you want to hear about all vaccums.. I just got the Dyson Animal...OMG...I love it. Yes I have to go outside to empty the canister every room...but that is because it is picking up so much stuff.....Compare the amount that the two vaccums picked up...was it the same.. I got a deal on the Dyson..300 for the DC animal 17. A friend got us a discount. I have had it 2 weeks and it is amazing..

| But the reason you are emptying it so much is because it is picking up so much more!!

Also, I went to the Oreck store to check it out. They dumped a whole box of dog and cat hair on the carpet and rubbed it in. Then they vaccumed it with a Dyson Animal cannister vaccum and then with the Oreck. It was amazing how much the Oreck got up after the Dyon. I asked the guy at the Oreck store about the bag and why it doesn't fill the bag up when my canister is filled up dozens of times while vaccuming my house, and he said it's because the Oreck condenses the fur in the bag. He dumped the hair out of the bag and indeed it was condensed and very compact. | |

| THANKS! I like how Oreck has a warranty on their vaccums with so many free tune ups depending on the type of vaccum you buy. |

| I got an Oreck last year around the holidays...... and I really like it. It does the job, is lightweight and also easy on my bad back. I DO use my Rainbow on occasion, I really think that it does a better job, but not near as user friendly.

| I had an Oreck before I got my Dyson Animal. I suspected it was not picking up as it should, it was only a year old, nothing wrong with it. The first time I vac'd my living room with the Dyson, I had to empty the canister twice because of all the hair etc. the Oreck left behind. I would not recommend an Oreck to anyone.

Actually, my mom had an Oreck and I loved it because it did as good a job as any vacuum and was soooo lightweight. I loved that. But I solved my problem by ripping out all the carpet and putting down hardwood! That is GREAT!!!
