| Anyone get laid off this summer? I got laid off July 1st for the first time in my life. I had a great job with great pay, benefits etc. I have been enjoying myself but now I am starting to worry if it is going to be harder than what I thought to find a new job. I was a sales manager for Insurance.com and the only thing that has come my way is commission jobs and the market is soft right now. I can't even image starting a scratch book of business right now. Any one else have a story? I have attached a pic of how I am spending my time. LOL! |

| I haven't gotten laid off, but business is slow! The economy is really scary right now!! Good luck with job hunting.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I've survived two rounds of layoffs in the newspaper business. They cut 10% of the workforce a couple months ago, then cut another 10% recently. I feel bad for those who lost their jobs. They got buyouts, but that's a small consolation in the job market these days. Many of the people laid off have had to settle for less elsewhere. Hopefully, the economy will turn around soon. Enjoy your time off! I'm jealous about that part.

| I didn't get laid off, but my doctor has advised me not to work anymore due to health problems. I had been at my job for 20+ years, so it has been hard for me to get used to not working anymore. Thank goodness for my furbutts!
