| Was wondering I have had a few Pm that ask for my private email address. I have yet to really get to know anyone here or the way things are done and was wondering if this is the norm ?? At another group we are not encourged to contact off group. I am always happy to chat by Pms. My private emails are contected to work or access by others for work reasons. JL

| Oh well they could have said that and given me the link and I could go check it out. I am pretty tight in my scheduale for to many other groups. I am in two training ones and have training to do..... hehe as I sit here with 5 days off enjoying a clean out car and computer time and reading time. JL

| I had one of those once too and it made me kind of leary, but I did give it out and that is what it was. I would guess that maybe you are not suppose to be doing that within the forum and that is why they do not want to say what it is in a pm.

| Ok I see thank you. I tend to run very careful and will continue to do so but I am here by Pms if anyone needs to chat. JL

| Hmmm, I've never been asked for my email by anyone I didn't already consider a YT friend. I would be skeptical to give it out too. Welcome to YT btw! Sooo, can you PM me your email address? J/K!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | YorkieTalk also forbids members from soliciting other member to donate money to their special causes, so this is another reason you may be asked for your private email address.

| I can understand you not wanting to give it out. I get PMs from time to time asking for my email address or personal info...most of the time I feel like I know the person since I've been here for a while and if I feel comfortable giving it to them I will...but I won't feel the slightest bit bad if I decline the request either. Generally speaking, I think that is very understandable. |

Administrator | We advise all members to be careful for their own sake when giving out any private information, such as your full name, address, phone number, or email address. If members are soliciting email addresses, that may be considered spam and may result in a ban of their YorkieTalk account if it happens multiple times without reason. Of course, if you are selling or buying a Yorkie or Yorkie product, then it is understandable that you may ask for an email address or address, for payment information or where to ship the Yorkie product. However, asking for an email address when it is not related to that may be a bit suspicious. We recommend you do not give out any information unless you feel comfortable to do so, as most questions and correspondence can happen through threads, profile messages, or private messages here on YorkieTalk. Thank you. |
