| Gustav mess!!!! Is everyone ok???? hi guys! I am checkin on on generator power, trying to check on anyone in his path! It was quite an experience, even for us... our city,Baton Rouge, got more damage than any other hurricane and over 60% in our area are still without power, some for 21 days or so!!!! We were blessed on my homefront, no serious damage but will be without power another week or so... I do have some pics but cannot upload until we get power back! We had some realy interesting visits from the hummingbirds.. lol I am praying that everyone in his path is ok and they are safe! Will pop in from time to time! Be Safe! d

| I'm in Many - west central - and we pretty well dodged the bullet! It turned at the last minute and went straight for Shreveport. My family in Alexandria really took a hit though! They'll be water logged and without power for days. Hope you're back up and running real soon.

| My parents were friends of the couple who were killed in Baton Rouge when a tree fell on the house. Very sad. I am trying to convince my parents to move out of hurricane land. |

| If IKE comes here, I am LEAVING! We havent recovered from gustav and we are now getting ready for another.. I dont think our infra-structure can take another hit like that.... Our kids wont be back in school until at least the 15th, my daughter is freaking out cuz this is her Senior year... but I am thankful that I have a home to sit in without power... so many people dont! I was so very sorry to hear about the older couple who were killed, they were the first to be killed bu th is horrible storm... Bless You all! d

| We had a mandatory evacuation in Lake Charles so we went north to Shreveport/Bossier City but everything is fine when we came back all it did was rain a lil in LC so for ALOTTT of people all this was was a waste of money and Fema won't even reimburse us If it never was really headed in our direction why evacuate us...I know its better safe than sorry but can ya at least help with the expense! LOL

| I am located in central la-about an hr from alexandria, la & there are alot still w/out elec here & from what i understand a major amount w/out it still in j-ville, la. We lost elec at 4 o'clock monday & didn't get it back until around 8 wed night, we were just about to lose alot of our groc. I went to a grocery store in natchez ms today & they still didn't have any milk & eggs & only a few packs of meat. I was wondering if alex was getting better I think pineville was really hard hit. I'm w/ya sister if Ike's coming I'm going to texas!! we are having a tremendous amt of flooding here too-it started sprinkling again today I was able to get on here a time or two w/my blackberry which helped!

| hit by the eye on the coast!!! Hi all,I just posted on another thread & saw this one later, just copy & past on this one. I live in Bourg, LA 12 miles from the coast & 2 miles from Houma, LA. Yes the eye of the Hurricane hit us. We evacuated to a Caddo Lake Cabin in Uncertain, Texas. (west of Shreveport, LA) with 5 Yorkies & Lexi is pregnant and is due on the 14th in one week. Hurricane Ike is heading straight for us now!!! We got home yesterday to No Electricity, No Running Water, No Sewage & No Phone service & Barely Cell Phone service!!! We now have everything back but Electricity - Rumors are 3 weeks or more!!! We are trying our best to not crack under pressure. This has to be the most stressful time of my life worring about Lexi in her last 2 weeks of pregnancy. Stormy & Kylee have been fighting like cats & dogs since we left a week ago. The 3 youngest get car sick - my Vet recommended no food or water 10 hrs before leaving & give them Benidryl. only one vomited on the way to Texas. We had to bring Lexi to Marshall Animal Hospital Friday for her X-rays - 5 puppies - he said she should not have a problem with the pups sizes. Our Home weather the Hurricane very well. We lost shingles, facia board, vinyl boxing, parts of our wooden fence, 2 trees, parts of the swimming pool deck. The house was suppossed to be going on the Real Estate market last week - so we can start building our new house. OH Well - more delays!!!

| Oh hon! I'm so sorry- it's times like these we've just got to dig our heels in & put the chin up.. maybe they'll get your electricity up soon cuz I just can't imagine 3 weeks w/out it- taking a bath in four inches water three nights in a row plus three bored as hell children like to made me snap & I know that's mild compared to others. I'm very worried about Ike we have alot of flood area right now the house across from us on the lake side already has water underneath it, but if it looks to bad I'm going to my moms in longview b/c my husband wont be here after tuesday. Please take care & keep in touch w/us if you can & I'll be praying for you & little lexi that everything comes out good.

If Ike is a catagory 3 - I would suggest you go to LongView, TX. We were in Uncertain near Marshall & Jefferson, TX & still had rain & a little wind days after it hit the coast. My dad's family lives in Jefferson, TX. So it was like a big Family Reunion. Take Care & Be Safe, Kim
